Paul Morrison has actually been doing a great deal
of
the work behind the scenes of the new Free Minds
site. He says,

Freeminds makes extensive use of RSS technology.
Wherever you see the RSS symbol (the little orange
square with white stripes) you'll know you can take our
content from that part of the site and take it home with
you.
Taking it home with you means automatically adding it to your Google homepage, your My Yahoo page, your blog reader or Google Reader. Each time new content, whether articles, blog posts or podcasts is added to the area of the Freeminds site you got the RSS feed, you'll be automatically updated; our content will be syndicated to you. Tags
Towards the top of each article and blog entry you will see an 'Add new tag' link. Tags are your chance to help the freeminds.org web team to organize the wealth of information on the site. When you read an article or blog post feel free to add a tag with one or two words (separated by just a comma, no spaces). Choose the words that sum up the essence of the content for you. It doesn't have to be the words that appear most frequently - rather its the word or words that, for you, capture what the point of the article is. This will help you, the search engines and future site visitors find the most relevant content - quickly. Ratings Directly under each article title you will see 5 stars - either blank or partially filled. This is your chance to help us and others know what content is hot and what is not. The more frequently you rate articles the more useful the entire system becomes. In time this will allow us to feature the best of the best and let you easily find articles that others have rated highly. Take a millisecond to click the stars and rate the content please. Many people now use MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc to keep in touch with friends and share interesting stuff they find online. At freeminds.org we are making this easy to do by including a 'Bookmark' feature on most of the content pages. Simply hover your mouse over the orange and white cross Bookmark icon at the top right of the page and a list of social networks will pop up - select the one you want to add your chosen content page to and you're done. Free Minds, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization
that has been the vehicle of Randall Watters in
reaching out to Jehovah's Witnesses and family since
1982 (formerly known as Bethel Ministries up until
1993). While much of our content is Christian-
oriented, we allow various perspectives on the cult
phenomena, especially from a psychological
viewpoint. We welcome people of any or
no faith at all. We will not engage is a
disrespectful belittling of others, and
active Jehovah's Witnesses will be among our
new audience.
Our desire is to equip you with the tools that are MOST USEFUL in reaching those trapped in the cults, notably the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah's Witnesses). Our funding is almost entirely through you, the
reader
online and in the printed Free Minds Journal.
We are
not supported or sponsored by any church, religious
or any other organization. We rely on
you the people. Please consider supporting our

Here's a couple of quick tips that will end your
frustration forever with the new site. Now you can't
email me and tell me,
"I can't find the article on the "cross"! I'm trying to show a Witness that Jesus died on a cross, not a stake. Help!" Starting at the top of the site's main page, and on every subsequent page, you have these words, About Freeminds Inc. Contact Us Languages Site Map Search (in the little oval capsule) The "About Freeminds" link is where you can point
people who want to know our goal and purposes.
"Contact Us" is a way to make sure you get on our mailing lists so you can be notified of special offers, the new membership benefits, special access, and more. Lots of new ideas you may have never seen will be utilized in the near future. DON'T be left without "new light."! "Languages" opens up the world to the non-English speaking peoples of the world. We get a great deal of traffic from South America and other Spanish- speaking countries, and we have quite a large number of articles by Randall that have been expertly translated. "Site Map" is a way to find something if you have a computer-savvy mind and want a quick look at the hierarchy of articles and wish to see the full gigabyte of material available on the site. YES, I said gigabyte. "Search" is the most powerful of these top-level features, because all you have to do is type a word into the little capsule and hit your "return" key. Try it now, using the word "cross." Notice that it gives a list of about 49 articles, each containing some discussion of the word "cross." But if you want to see the most POPULAR article on the cross, which often gets several hundred views in a single day, just click on the "most popular" box in the search engine display, and there it is!
