We'd really like to make it easy for you to share and acquire Freeminds content in a way that works for you. Whether that is email, print, or RSS hopefully we have you covered. Take a minute to read how you can work better with the new Freeminds website and what it can deliver for you.

 RSS (Really Simple Syndication)

RSS is the simplest and fastest way to keep up to date with new stuff from any website or blog. It's one of the Internet tools that make the delivery of content much simpler by telling you when new content from chosen sites is available, rather than you having to constantly keep checking for updates. You don't go to the Post Office three times a day asking if any letters have arrived for you, and now RSS means you don't have to do that on the Internet either.

Rather than Freeminds content being on our website only, syndicating it via RSS means it can be millions of places at once.

Freeminds makes extensive use of RSS technology. Wherever you see the RSS symbol (the little orange square with white stripes) you'll know you can take our content from that part of the site and take it home with you.

Taking it home with you means automatically adding it to your Google homepage, your My Yahoo page, your blog reader or Google Reader. Each time new content, whether articles, blog posts or podcasts is added to the area of the Freeminds site you got the RSS feed, you'll be automatically updated; our content will be syndicated to you.

This clip explains the basics:

if you don't already have one the first thing to do is create a Google Account - this is free and will enable you to use Google Reader for RSS

RSS is in fact only 'really simple' with the Firefox browser, but if you insist on making it 'really complicated' using Internet Explorer 6 or 7 you may wish to read this also:

Ratings

Directly under each article title you will see 5 stars - either blank or partially filled. This is your chance to help us and others know what content is hot and what is not. The more frequently you rate articles the more useful the entire system becomes. In time this will allow us to feature the best of the best and let you easily find articles that others have rated highly.

Take a millisecond to click the stars and rate the content please.

RSS can be "really simple" using things other than a web browser. I use Google Reader to subscribe to RSS Feeds and I couldn't be happier.

I've also heard of people using email clients like Thunderbird for RSS feeds.
