Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson

Question: Does any one remember what it was the Watchtower put out shortly after all the Michael Jackson eruption? I remember there were comments, but just shy of a name. We all knew who they were talking about. Any one remember?

Answer #1: I can add to this the known fact that the Watchtower Society harassed Jackson about the Thriller video, causing him to add a disclaimer to the video that it did not represent his beliefs about the supernatural. He also gave an 'interview' in the Awake! magazine saying he was naughty and sorry and he would never do it again. Does anyone have that?

Answer #2: This might be the one:

Awake! May 22, 1984 p. 19-20 "What About Music Videos? ***Would Never Do It Again!"

The Awake! magazine goes on to say:

In another popular video, Thriller, the performer is seen to transform first into a "cat person," then a dancing "monster." Evidently not wanting viewers to conclude that it promoted spiritism, the film begins with the disclaimer: "Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult.-Michael Jackson." Nevertheless, it was so realistic that some who saw it admitted that they were horrified at first. What was this short film intended to convey? And how does the performer, Michael Jackson, feel about it in looking back?

"I would never do it again!" says Jackson. "I just intended to do a good, fun short film, not to purposely bring to the screen something to scare people or to do anything bad. I want to do what's right. I would never do anything like that again." Why not? "Because a lot of people were offended by it," explains Jackson. "That makes me feel bad. I don't want them to feel that way. I realize now that it wasn't a good idea. I'll never do a video like that again!" He continues: "In fact, I have blocked further distribution of the film over which I have control, including its release in some other countries. There's all kinds of promotional stuff being proposed on Thriller. But I tell them, 'No, no, no. I don't want to do anything on Thriller. No more Thriller.'"

Also I got a book called Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness by J. Randy Taraborreli.

This book goes into some interesting situations that the gloved one had with the elders in his congregation. I quote some things from the book:

"Despite the fact that Michael was a devote Jehovah's Witness-and no doubt had donated quite a bit of money to the religion-the church's elders were extremely upset with him, mostly because of the "Thriller" video. p.324

"But before he had even finished work on the "Thriller" video it brought to a head the ongoing conflict between the church elders of the Encino Kingdom Hall and Michael regarding his fame and his career....Im meetings between Michael and the elders...he was not receptive....He refused to make any kind of statement repudiating his work, and the church insisted he should .....Finally, when the elders threatened to force him to leave the religion Michael became extremely upset." p.326

"This obviously had a serious effect on the gloved one so he decided to destroy the tapes. We're talking about a million dollars of work here. It was brought out to Michael that the church elders should not dictate Michael's "artistry." Michael's attention was brought to the fact that Bella Lugosi was a very religious man yet he played out his artistry as Dracula and Lugosi's religious beliefs had no bearing on his "art." So it was suggested that Michael put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video stating that the video in no way reflect Michael's religious convictions. Michael agreed to this. John Landis, the director, didn't want to do it but if he didn't agree then the whole thriller video was going to be scrapped."

The book continues:

"How ironic that Michael's benevolent spirit wasn't enough to satisfy the elders of his Jehovah's Witness congregation. They expected him to restrict his entertainment practices as well. At this time, Michael was called into another meeting with the witness elders over the "Thriller" video. Again they told him that they were considering excluding Michael from the religion. Michael left the meeting particularly shaken. He did not want to be disfellowshipped. He decided he would disown "Thriller" if he had to....Furthermore Michael would make a public statement about his sin in an issue of the Witness periodical, Awake! ( May 22, 1984 ) p.359

Finally Michael became like the rest of us in this group.

"In the spring of 1987 Michael disassociated himself from the congregation and that he no longer wants to be known as a Jehovah's Witness."

Venus and Serena Williams

Venus and Serena Williams

famous tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams who are Jehovah's Witnesses

SYDNEY -- "Unstoppable Venus Williams laughed off the suggestion she had nothing left to achieve in tennis after adding an Olympic gold medal to her growing list of triumphs." [NBC Olympics.com]

The fact that Venus (and her sister Serena) are both active Jehovah's Witnesses participating in the Olympics has provoked an interesting reaction from the organization. None at all.

So while many Witnesses cheer for Venus, they know deep in their hearts that they would be subject to judicial procedures for much lesser offenses.

And when Venus stood on the podium to receive the gold medal to the tune of the American national anthem, she became a different kind of pioneer than to which we are accustomed.

A usual matter of contention among Witnesses is whether the Williams sisters are actually Jehovah's Witnesses or not. Their mother certainly is one of us (JW), and has been for years. The father certainly is not. (He often takes cigarette breaks during the sister's matches.)

Based on Venus' and Serena's own words and actions, the answer is yes. Venus was asked in a recent interview what her involvement is with Jehovah's Witnesses.

"Well, we believe -- it's just like tennis. You can't just go once a month and expect your game to be on top. You have to reiterate everything. We believe in good association, association with fellow Witnesses, not becoming too involved with people that don't have the same beliefs and same values that we do. We go to meetings three times a week. They encourage us. You learn there, you learn more, just continue learning until you get a better understanding of things. I guess you are aware that we do house-to-house witnessing. I can't do that at all because I'm on the road.

Getting more popular, I don't know if I can go house-to-house. I'm thinking about that."

It is apparent that Venus is one of the best tennis players ever, and the best in the world today. That she is one of Jehovah's Witnesses makes that even more remarkable.

Damon Wayans

Damon Wayans

interview quote from "Taming Wayans" by Kevin Koffler, photographed by Greg Henry:

"My father is a Jehovah's Witness, and he raised us under a very strict hand. He believed that if he did not spare the rod, he would raise functional, obedient children.

"He failed to realize that he didn't need to beat [us] all of the time; he needed to talk to us, to try to understand us. I think that he learned [to do that] towards the end of his career as a father. [When I was young], he didn't know there was any different way of being. He's two generations away from being a slave; [when he was growing up] he got beat, so he passed it on.

"The good thing is I don't [beat] my children, and none of my brothers and sisters do to theirs. We've broken the chain."

La Toya Jackson

Latoya Jackson

Book Review (reprinted from the May/June 1993 Bethel Ministries Newsletter; now the Free Minds Journal)

LA TOYA - Growing Up in the Jackson Family - 1991, New York: Penguin Books

Many are aware that both entertainers Michael and Janet Jackson were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses, but few details are known about the family that raised them and how the religion figured in their lives collectively. La Toya tells a great deal about how the Watchtower affected them, and I have noted a few of her memoirs, revealing experiences that are all too common among those raised in the Witnesses.

On Holidays

"After Mother became a Jehovah's Witness, we no longer celebrated Christmas at home. So my grand-parents, feeling sorry for us, took us to Christmas parties and gave us gifts and money. Although this went against my mother's religious beliefs, she permitted it, seeing how happy it made us." p. 21

On Dating and Door-to-Door

"While my older brothers were dating, the opposite sex was the last thing on my mind. For one thing, Michael and I were very active in the Jehovah's Witness faith. By this time most of our siblings had basically given it up. Five days a week the two of us and Mother studied the Bible at home and attended the Kingdom Hall.... Every morning Michael and I witnessed, knocking on doors around Los Angeles, spreading the word of Jehovah. As my brother's fame grew, he had to don disguises, like a rubber fat suit he bought years later, around the time of Thriller. Adults were easily fooled by Michael's incognito, but it was a rare child who didn't see through his costume...." p. 53, 54

On Personal Grooming

"As an entertainer and idol of millions, Michael was always being reproached for such things as the length of his hair and for wearing widely flared bell-bottoms. My brother loves vivid colors, particularly red, causing one elder to criticize, `The colors you wear are too bright, and you're attracting attention to yourself. You must stick with brown and black.' Some Witnesses refused to associate with us at all." p. 56

On Popularity

"Whatever long-standing reservations these Witnesses held about Michael being a pop idol crystallized the night he won those record-breaking eight honors at the 1984 Grammy Awards. The very next morning one elder issued him an ultimatum that my brother must choose between music and the religion. `What you're doing is wrong,' the man declared." p. 197

"Truth be told, many Jehovah's Witnesses used to congregate outside the Kingdom Hall hoping to catch a glimpse of Michael Jackson, knowing full well this kind of adulation was forbidden." p. 197

On Disfellowshipping

La Toya recounts the treatment her closest friend received by the elders:

"During a meeting, Darles bravely challenged one of the elders. `Why is it that I will be saved,' she asked innocently, `but my parents won't be? They may not be Witnesses, but they're perfectly nice people.' The elder's reply was typical. He cited the scripture, which supported his position but did not really address Darles's point. So she wrote a letter further explaining her feelings and doubts. This outraged the other elders. One day Rebbie's husband, Nathaniel, also an elder, cornered me. `La Toya,' he said, `you're never allowed to speak to Darles again. Ever.'"

"But why?"

"`She's been disfellowshiped.' Cast out of the faith, to be shunned from then on." p. 55

La Toya recounts the time when Michael was told not to ever talk to his sister (meaning La Toya) again:

"`La Toya, I ...' The words came out in a torrent. `I can't talk to you ever again.'"

"What do you mean?"

"The elders had a big meeting, and they told me never to speak to you because you haven't been coming to the Kingdom Hall."

"Michael then excused himself, drove over to his friend Marlon Brando's house, asking his advice. Marlon advised him, `For heaven's sake, Michael, that's your sister. If that's the way they're going to do things, you don't need to be part of that. You can always get another religion, but you can never get another sister.'"

"Michael decided to disobey the elders' edict and after that never attended any more meetings. To this day we've never discussed exactly what happened, but I know he subsequently severed his ties to the organization through a formal letter." p. 199

Gloria Naylor

Gloria Naylor

The novelist Gloria Naylor, b. New York City, Jan. 25, 1950, was a Jehovah's Witnesses missionary from 1968 to 1975, then worked as a telephone operator in New York City hotels while attending Brooklyn College (B.A., 1981). Next, while earning an M.A. (1983) from Yale University, Naylor became famous for The Women of Brewster Place (1982), which won the American Book Award for best first novel. In linked stories the book portrays seven strong black women against the background of a rundown urban neighborhood. It became a television miniseries in 1989 and the basis for a short-lived weekly series in 1990. Naylor's second novel, Linden Hills (1985), applies the pattern of Dante's Inferno to a prosperous black suburb whose people have escaped the inner city, but at a high cost. Mama Day (1988) blends elements from Shakespeare's The Tempest with a tale of modern-day magic and mystery. Completing what the author called her "novel quartet" is Bailey's Cafe (1992), which explores the theme of female sexuality.

The people that were raised as a jw, they know what's up, and what they are suppose to do. i was raised as one myself, i have not been baptized, but i do know whats right and whats wrong, the other people that were raised as one and the baptized ones that are not active, are not ready to give up some of the things that are going on in their lives. you have to be ready, i mean really ready to go on with that, but look at the world that should make you ready, including myself. if you have never been there then its hard to explain a jw, and the ones that know and is still dogging the religion, you know deep in your hearts. pray about it yall!

The American people had such a hard time accepting the African American earlier in this century. Why? Because they did not understand. They were ignorant. They beat them; swore at them; spit on them and yes, even killed them. The African Americans have gone a long way to be understood. JW's are in the same boat. They are misunderstood. People do not understand their way so they bash them. If they took the time to do some research they will realize that they are actually decent people. The representation of the elders in these cases are personal and faulty. You don't have to like someone but you do not have mistreat them and falsely accuse them of misconduct.

the truth is that when people find it hard to conform to what is right they blame other for their faillings. Beign a JW is wonderful experience. you are free from ignorance that affect the rest of mankind as far as god is concerned. though jw are not know it all but they are certainly doing fine than most religions you know it guys.

Before I was baptized as a JW less than a year ago I 1st examined ALL of the negative points people bring up & found that it was usually due to false info re beliefs, someone was bitter over their personal situation, or having been raised with parents that had an IMPROPER view of discipline . Everyone in the world is imperfect, including JW's...if every JW acted just right all the time the world would have a group of 7 million perfect people. There is hypocrisy in EVERY religion. Regarding beliefs, they are the only religious group that I found that did not tweek, personalize, or disregard certain teachings from the bible to suite their personal understanding of the way things should operate. Some things seem harsh such as disfollowshipping but if they disregarded or overlooked the instruction in the bible re such matters they would not be true christians. In a world of customized self-serving religions it was nice to find the one that followed God's instructions even if the world things their harsh.

I have no problem with the religion at all. People misjudge the religions & its teaching & allways ready put the few messed up JW's on blast & use them as a mirror for the whole religion. There are FAKE ppl in every religion. I will never talk bad about the faith da raise me or every Blame my mother or any other Witness for the way i was raised.

I was raised as a JW and left before being baptised at 17 . I did allsorts!! and at 25 decided that life without God was wasted. I have seen both sides! I needed stability and security as I could see this world was going DOWN!!! I came back to the truth as an adult and without ANY influence of my parents. I am happier now than ever with a husband and two kids who all serve Jehovah and have a solid future to look forward to. I wish Michael had seen that life in Gods new world is better than any fame or fortune this world has to offer... Did it make him happy? I dont think so....

All you sitting and judging....You all need to read your bible a little bit more and stop judging others. Who cares who did what and when. ...who cares that you got disfellowshipped and they didn't...who cares that you don't believe or understand this religion or not...it ain't your place to judge....at the end of the day...it's between you and god. No1 else.

Everyone is imperfect...we all make mistakes. Pray for those on the wrong path, do not judge...pray...and focus on your relationship with god. It will make you a better person.

Praise Jehovah for those who keep him close. God be with you all!

when JWs get Disfllwdship the elders dont ask you not to talk to your family members.what it is that they ask is not to communicate with them within the hall or associate with them in big events because if nondisfllwdshipd Witneesses assoc. with them its like the sin they committed was acceptable so there are certain limits. we could talk to are family and encourage them yes we fell bad what had happend but we rejoice when they return. and we do not look down upon them cuz we are all NOT PERFECT!! im a JW and my father is disfllwshipd. Also this is not a rule we make about disfllwshipping our fellow sisters and brothers its in the bible everything we do is cause of the bible!

"I dare all JW's to honestly explore the roots of their religion with an open mind. Trust me you might not like what you find."

trust me, most JW's already know the roots of the organization the different groups who have splintered off to start their own thing or to just simply bash JW's. what you are missing is you can talk all you want about imperfection and false prophecies, because all religions have them...trust me on that, but what makes people who were raised JW's or were associated, is the simple truth from the Bible. something you cannot understand. these celebs are often seen in a meeting or convention once in a while because they know its still the truth. you maybe df or not active or have never associated with JW's and you bash them. BUT guess what? Jehovah is still God Almighty and Jesus is the Christ and one day there will be paradise.

Being a JW is cerainly the best thing I've Done in my life. I myself dissasocaited from the organization by choice like Michael Jackson but soon realized that the truth IS what keeps us alive and nothing else can give us what the Bible and Jehovah gives us. I just would like for people to know what our intentions are and that listening to us when we are at their door can do for them. Many have done it and say its the best choice of their life . I am so glad I restarted my relationship with Jehovah and hope that eeveryone does... is's only for the best. God will bring judgement and we all have to be ready.

The organization of Jehovah is PERFECT but every individual who's in it is NOT. If you want to seek mistakes from a JW, you may find many, even a list of those, BUT before you do that have you first research the good they have done? The sacrifices, forcing one to disown himself and serve only to God? Also, have you even compared to yourself if you CAN do what they do? (Matthew 7:3-5)

Yes, we can all judge everyone and anyone, but the question is DO WE HAVE THE RIGHT? (Matthew 7:1, 2) Even the perfect man himself, Jesus, did not do such things. So why would we as IMPERFECT persons do what the PERFECT PERSON had not?

All JW's beliefs are regarding to what they have learned in the Bible and everyone's question is answered through Jehovah's word itself. So people, please, before saying anything, please research first. Praise to the ONLY and TRUE God, Jehovah...

I am a JW, and I never usually comment on JW disparaging on websites, but the question I have for all these websites that try to tear down JW's as a whole is what do YOU have that is better? Is it so called living for today chasing after money, success, and the present moment. People need to realize success and money can be taken from you in an instant, and no disrespect but Michael Jackson is a prime example passing away at 50. If you look at his life regarding the successes he truly wasn't respected and recognized until his death. And I'm sure he wasn't happy with his life when he was living (Vitiligo, Child molestation charges, etc.) which is evident by his seclusion up until his comeback tour. My main point is being a Jehovah's Witness you learn about God's original purpose and what he has in store for the future, which gives you something which no amount of money can buy, and that is peace of mind.

Please listen......God is a title like King is a title...but God has a name like a King has a name...Psalms 83:18 tell us Gods name is Jehovah. Jesus is his son...Jesus is not God...Jesus even quoted that "the father is greater than I am" Remember Jehovah's Witness do not make up rules...everything they do comes from the bible...problem is that most people do not open their bibles let alone read them. CHECK out the bible and see that what you think Jehovah's Witnesses are doing or saying whether it comes from the bible...Remember that some people think Jesus was born DECEMBER 25th...well he wasn't...look up on your own computer and see he wasn't....there are so many lies out there about Jehovah's Witnesses because most people are ignorant...there is nothing wrong with a good upbringing from the bible...where do you think most of our laws came from THE BIBLE...because that is the only way to go..the book of Matthew talks about what will happen in the last days and they are so here...careful of what you say until you put your own nose in the bible and read and decifer and look up your own history of what is right and wrong...but the BIBLE is NEVER wrong and Jehovah's Witnesses strive very hard to follow it...but because they are imperfect like all of you they fail but that is why Jesus died for us...to forgive us of our sins...if we stop practicing the sin. We do not stiffle creativity or force anyone to worship the true god...look at the magazines and the picture on it...all done by Winesses(how creative is that)....but for the good not the bad that circulates out there....as for Micheal Jackson and who ever is so called famous...they are not famous in Jehovah's eyes....Micheal probably had a talking to by the elders because he was making THRILLER and this is a video about the dead....this is so contrary to the bibles teaching what he was doing...the bible quotes that the living know they will die...but the dead are conscious of nothing at all....so for him to know this scripture and go against the bible was something...but the elders tried to correct his path...but money spoke for Micheal...I am sure he was sorry for it...but he has a chance to be in the new system that the bible talks about and Micheal knew this to the very end. He didn't critizise the Witnesses because he knew what the bible taught...not the Witnesses making it up. Remember when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit(it was never mentioned what kind of fruit they ate) but Jehovah told them before this that they were to populate the earth and subdue it....well if they had not eaten this fruit WHERE WOULD WE ALL BE TODAY...on earth in paradise like they were...so you see this is Jehovahs goal is to get people to understand that we can have this paradise again...but you need to work at it and follow his laws...his laws are the BIBLE...remember even people who claim they are witnesses make bad judgements
but that does mean Jehovah does not exist...we all make mistakes...and some went wrong with discipline on their children...but that doesn't mean Witnesses condone this behavior.... it is the person inside that needs to change by following the right bible principles...whether a Witness or not...LOOK IN YOUR own bible and read it for the first time....most Witnesses are well adjusted...because they follow as close as they can to gods laws...but everyone is different (mentally and emotionally) and sometimes these people cannot be fixed and yet claim to love Jehovah(and I am sure they do) but mental illness or whatever can cloud behavior whether you are a Witness or just any old religion etc......PRAY and use Jehovah's name in your prayers...and always leave your prayer in his sons name Jesus...try it ..ya never know.

I don't argue that being raised a JW is the most terrible thing in the world - there are a lot more terrible things that one could experience. But suffice it to say, there are serious doctrinal errors within this religion that ultimately begins to undermine any legitimacy that it may claim as being "the truth". For one, the long history of false predictions about the end times. This fact alone suggest that they believe that they know more than Jesus, who said no one knows the day and hour. And when it comes to the person of Jesus, the WTS gives a slant on him that is inconsistent with Scripture - Big God creates a little god but then says in the 10 Commandments "you should have no other gods before you." To suggest that God needed a helper to create the universe pretty much implies that God is not all-powerful - just sort of powerful. (John 1:1) I am not traditional trinitarian, but I believe that the WTS, like many of the churches miss the point. The very name that God gives himself - YHWH - is not actually a name but a definition of the potential of whomever and whatever God may choose to be, specifically "I shall be what I shall prove to be". More space would be needed to expound on the fullness of God's diversity in the person of YHWH, Elohim, Adonai, Kurios and the manifestation of the person of Iesous (Jesus) the Christos. The WTS miserably over-simplifies the aspects of God's Deity with pseudo-scriptural backing. Finally, two critical points of contention: a 2-party Church (heaven bound/earth bound) with a "faithful and discreet slave" represented by a Governing Body is not only unscriptural, but is antithetical to the Oneness of the body of Christ; and secondly, that the WTS is the only conduit for salvation. To make such a suggestion is to effectively say that Jesus' death just wasn't quite good enough and you need us to save you. Those who are born again by the spirit of God and have the adoption as sons "Abba Father" (Rom. 8:15) are directed and lead by God alone and not an intercessory body. The WTS does exactly what it talks about so much by raising itself up in the temple of God as if it were a god. And the final point: God does not need man to vindicate Himself.
I humbly submit to you as someone raised as an African-American JW, that people open themselves up to the spirit of God so as to be lead and taught and not be mislead into believing that you are not worthy of His grace and mercy unless you are a member of a dying breed of 144,000 (actual Jews) and this erroneous idea that the "other sheep" is a "great crowd" excluded from such mercy. Even C.T. Russell believed and taught that the 'other sheep not of this fold' referred to the time when Gentiles would be brought into the one Body of the Church and that the Great Multitude of Rev. 7:9 is identical to that in Rev. 19:1 - which finds itself in heaven. You're either saved or you are not saved - there is no class-distinction with God.

I am a jehovah witness the reason why micheal jackson was kicked out is because of the video Thriller he knew that the video was not wat jehovah's witness belived and the elders told him to not make it and he did micheal caused hiself to leave the oragnization he also knows that anyone who has die does not come back! so all you people who have no idea what jehovah witness are need to go to a local kingdom hall and ask and they will tell you what we belive and know is right. Also we listen to the watchtower because it is a other guide for us to remind us what we have to do! Every thing is find in the bible and is the answer to alot of questions! But I hope that the jackson family would go back to the truth before the time of the end comes becuase only jehovah nows the day when the world comes to a end and we have to be ready for whatever happens! So all we should be remind to is if you really don't know what jehovah witness's belive ask one and they will tell and if you don't like us 'fine' but just like when noah warned the people of the flood that it was coming and they did not listen jehovah's day is coming and i hope you are listening! And i have respect for all you judgemental people out there because without you people we would never preach the word of god and get it around.FYI we are the only religon that has over 7,124,443 millon people in the truth that love jehovah god!smilies/grin.gif
Next we are not perfect us jehovah's witness we are just like you we make mistakes everyday our life sytle is great!I will also like to tell you micheal jackson could talk to his sister but not on a spritual and religon's background! So stop making up stuff! [b

I too am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, in Randallstown MD, and as one we all try to do according to the Bible, because Jehovah does not want anyone to be destroyed, but (to repent of our sins) and enjoy everlasting life here on earth. Wake up people, (who are not lovers of Jehovah) the hour is coming (as a thief in the night) and those who have not changed, as the Bible says will be destroyed and only the meek shall enherit the earth forever, that is Jehovah's people. Michael may have another chance when the ressurection takes place, but it is Jehovah that decides who should live and who should die

My father and grandfather are, or were for long periods of time, providing and circuit overseers. As a child I led a life of misery. My father, too, was an abusive man. "Spare the rod and spoil the child" is a vague statement open to a wide interpretation. No "elder" stepped in, some having seen with their own eyes what was happening to us. I was ostracized by children and adults alike for my "hippie" dress and hair style. Looking back, I was dressed nicely enough for an professional place of business or other church.

The religion encourages "separation" from "the world" to an extreme fault. Apparently, temptation can't be handled by their inner morality. They should instead remove all temptation rather than face the world or face a challenge to their beliefs. They are too avoid developing strong friendships or marriage outside their faith. So, apparently, Jesus was in major violation -- visiting with the world's degenerates. (sarcasm)I am somewhat amazed that they have missionaries... since they can hardly integrate or more than superficially co-mingle themselves into their own local societies.

Although baptism is a choice, it is one of extreme peer pressure. Many children are baptized in their early teens, a time when children are most vulnerable to conformity. As a kid I was a free thinker, and believe me ... these are not the kind people who tolerate out of the box "what if" questions. Ask one question of the religion and that may be fine for a while.... but practice doubt as a mode of deeper learning and you will not get a pleasant response (or a logical one). I could go on ...

Given these experiences Michael Jackson surely would have had a difficult time whether he believed or not. He dressed differently, his job required him to be involved with the "world," if he was not baptized (as I am not clear on this point)he surely would have been taboo for going beyond the normative baptism age.

Yes, all religions are corrupt and faulted. However, if you are a humanitarian at heart I believe you must interact with the world ( not necessarily alter yourself for it). We were made with our very powerful internal compass. It is the variety of personal selves that make humanity a success. In my experiences, their actions show that they believe good people who are independent are not AS good as even some seriously flawed JW's purely because they are not part of the communal body.

If some of the greatest prophets had to choose their own unpopular paths, how can independence or new understandings of the world, the bible, faith, human behavior, etc be shunned so completely by tis religion?

As for the video Thriller Micheal was not going to released it but all the investors told him he had to because to much money was invested, He wrote the brothers and was sorry I read his letter it was really nice..

maybe for those who hated the Jw so much have thier own reason... JW are growing in numbers day to day tru the door to door ministry. For those who think that JW are moron for not looking back to it's origin...Wake up man, as though your too inteligent. try to survey people who are being incarcerated to prison life.. look there if you've got at least a hundred in your place.. Catholic and protestants kill each other in Ireland... you may have forgotten the 2 worldwars...witnesses stayed neutral even when the Catholics instigated the Nationalistic fervor to persecute them for not enlisting to milittary service..it took me 3 years to study the Bible with JW's abnd got baptized in 1994. I didnt joined them with eyes closed.. their love for other people could very well see in their effort to teach the Bible from house to house.. Is there any religion who could hjave done this for more than a hundred years now? no One.

Can you find fault in Jehovah?? NO... He's perfect in many things...
Can you find fault in human? YES...we're all imperfect.

Make the truth you own.. don't rely our faith on elder. Elder makes mistakes too... they're human like the rest of us...

No matter what you do, DON'T ever leave JEHOVAH. Ask yourself before you leave HIM- do you have any other God beside HIM? do you? You know the truth well....It's do hurts what other brothers might say or do to us, we know Jehovah is there, to see, to watch, to judge and to help us....Glory belong to Jehovah...Amen

I was a JW for many, many years.I still am a JW in my heart and beliefs.I was dis fellowship one year ago for something the elders thought it wasn't right. They maybe right. But I know in my mind that I had nothing to be ashamed before God.So I keep studying the Bible and all the Publications coming from the Watchtower;waiting for the truth to be serve!(in my case)
I just want to say this 1)Science and Bible are not contradictory. They are versions of the same truth;explained in a different way.For a scientific mind;nothing should be false until proved so!Which had not come, not yet.Furthermore, the doors should be open for scientific minds ,not refuse Bible's teachings but take them very seriously.Science is lacking the tools to measure things like Faith and else. For now!
2)M.J.'s mind :I think it was in a perpetual self contradiction. It is one of the most difficult tasks in life, the long struggle between soul and body, to keep them good and act right before God and his principles.Specially when we are not guilty of what the elders presume of us.And I know they are not perfects, they get wrong very often. After all they are not the Holy ones.Happily !

I had, until recently, been a JW my whole life. But then I made a fateful decision to strengthen my faith in Jehovah by removing the few almost-lifelong doubts I had. Such as the assertion among every paleontologists that humanity is older than 100,000 years, how could a worldwide flood leave no obvious trace, why the almost-universal belief in evolution by all scientists.....Start with the easiest questions. Read only reliable scientific journals, cross-reference them carefully... I had no idea that such research would start me in the opposite direction!!! Exactly how we know that humanity is about 200,000 years old, that evolution happened, etc. Many separate lines of scientific inquiry, over and over again, converge independantly to the same conclusions over and over again. The Garden of Eden was an impossible myth, and if that's so, then..... I soon had a major breakdown after learning many other things I never wanted to know. Despite that horrible experience, and being severed from my family, I'm glad it happened! Birth is always a traumatic experience, and yet we are glad to be Alive and Awake to reality. Yes the world is a horrible place, but it is also a beautiful, wonderful place! I cannot stop learning what I was never allowed to know, and I never will stop learning. I have many wonderful friends, a new family, a bright new future based on emphasizing this life we have before death. As a Secular Humanist, I have accepted MYSELF as my personal savior, not some bronze-age sky-god. I am the only one that can know why I exist, I am the only one that can fully realize that purpose. Can you ever accept YOURSELVES as your own "saviors?" Do research, but carefully. Learn objective facts over subjective anecdotes and opinions. Learn critical reasoning, evaluate claims for their validity, adopt healthy skepticism and follow the facts wherever they lead. Yes, the WTS has established an airtight, convincing case as the One True Religion- BUT --- only if you stay within the intellectual confines of the WT Library and belief system. Yes, the Organization is a sort of "life-boat," but as for me and many others, we have learned to swim in this vast ocean! Carefully look around, learn what reality is, and isn't. It is not only your RIGHT to seek honest answers, IT IS YOUR MANDATE!!! This is YOUR LIFE. It belongs to YOU and YOU alone.

My boyfriend, is a JW, I didn’t know he was one when we started going out. I’m catholic, but have issues with some of its principles, so I don’t go to church much, but read my bible and listen to gospel to connect with God and pray....after having read about JW, I am totally freaked out, this guy was ashamed of his religion to a point that he celebrated my birthday and his birthday last year, then he went to a convention a few months ago and now is all JW on me. it was like he was zapped by some supernatural power at the convention and we have been unhappy ever since, I broke up with him so many times, hoping that he stopped being on a constant guilt trip but he wouldn’t have it. I love him dearly, for the very first time in my life, I felt I met my soul mate, and before I could even tell him that when I felt it, he told me I was the one for him, so now tell me, you JW in here, what is your problem with me, why should his family shun him, why should our kids not celebrate birthdays and xmas if we ever have kids. I pity him, i really do, coz he when we talk about religion, he gets so defensive and arrogant, he turns into a real monster, its like dealing with the devil himself, why does this religion do this to its people. He has never dated within the religion, why is that.... please make me understand your religion. I thought i was brought up extremely conservatively and thought my dad was Hitler incarnated but this religion definitely take dictatorial to another level, why?

Colossians 2:16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.

The things I'm reading about MJ's and others' experiences with the JW faith is truly sad. The Bible is clear: no one should pass judgement on anyone else because of something as SILLY as a Holiday. I was raised a Baptist. I'm now a non-denominational born again Christian. Since I began serious Bible study as a young adult, I've known that Christmans, and other holidays that Christians celebrate, are not Biblically based. They did not originate in the Bible and the way most people celebrarate Christmas and Easter (focus on material things. the act of 'worshipping' a fat white man in a red suit, the 'Easter' Bunny, focus on Eggs and clothes, etc.)certainly have nothing to do with Christ. However, the legalism, judging, and shunning of others expressed and practiced by JWs is truly astonishing.

I feel so sad and brokenhearted for Michael. He was so talented, intelligent, kind, and loving. It seems he never really got a decent chance in life. Yes, he made billions and lived lavishly, however, he was surrounded by harsh, cruel, people everywhere he went.

I've been reading up on the JW faith recently--trying to learn the tenants and what the organization is really about. I've always been taught that the JW faith is a cult. I'm more inclined to believe that. I don't feel or sense any of the love of Jesus, let alone, God (yes, I know God's name is Jehova)in what I've encountered thus far. Especially the accounts of ex-JWs. All I feel and see is judgement, legalism, and self-righteousness. I remember watching a TV special with MJ waking up at Liz Taylor's house on Christmas. She gave him three super soaker guns as 'gifts.' He said he felt so guilty accepting them he went in the bathroom and cried. There is something very wrong with a "faith" that causes people so much pain, rejection, and sadness.

Jahovahs witnesses believe that if you have a goatee you are not worthy to comment in a meeting. where does it say that in the bible. Also the archangel michael is jesus......that is a huge stretch...also if the watchtower society tells you to go lie down in the street you should do that too. God gave us a mind for a reason. If you want to drink the punch like the people in jim jones comunity go ahead. Do not tell me that i have to attend five meetings a week to be accepted by God. If you have to go to five meetings a week it is probably because someone is trying to brain wash you. I says in the bible that Got wants you to use your own head.

It is so nice to hear everyones thoughts and feelings be they negative or positive.Asone ofv Jehovahs peolpe ,i can say there is NOTHING ,to compare theses truths from the Bible to.The sriptures are very logical ,and it is not up to one single person to judge another one!!!Michael Jackson was an imperfect human ,like us all .He was very Loving sensitive individual ,who only wanted tosing and dance and make people feel good.Yes he knew Jehovah God and more impotantly Jehovah knew Michael better than any one human ,the scritures remind us that Jehovah knows even how many hairs are on our imperfect heads!!And he takes care of the earth and all humans good ,bad or indiffernt ,they still live, eat ,enjoy this earth because of his DEEP LOVE for all mankind .Michael shared these truths from the Bible as ayouth ,and he alwys knew and believed in Jehovah our merciful and LOVING God!!!!Michael is at rest and he is in Gods memory ,and soon he will like Lazarus be awake on the paradise earth he even told others about !!!!i Pray FOR HIM AND HIS CHILDREN AND FAMILY THAT THEY TOO LIKE mICHAEL WILL CONTINUE TO TURN TO jEHOVAH THE MOST MERCIFUL UNDERSTANDING person in the UNIVERSE ,to get by and take comfort ,in the song they all sang capella ,at his Private funeral service ,'Life Without End At Last,he would have been so happy to hear this song ,as i am sure his beautiful children were too ,if you out there want to know the truth and have this sam beautiful hope for the future ,please study the scritptures ,please sincerely Leela Dinunzio ,my email adress is Leelamar2003@yahoo.com

We will never know if MJ was an active JW or not.

MJ himself was after growing up in the entertainment industry fully aware of how to deal with the media to continue to maintain the star staus. So we will never learn more than fractions of the truth.

JW organization has probably also had its besärda part of the economy that surrounded the Jackson family and they have no interests to confirm or deny the situation with respect to MJ, as they probably expect continued economic dividends from the family in the future.

One thing is rhetoric another thing is the economic reality. At the level of MJ it was most work keeping a brand around himself, so is all about politics and less to describe the truth that was the cure interests with his very few contacts with the media.

Hi everybody, i used to be JW too. I was unhappy the way my parents educated me. I left JWs as i was 20, ten years ago. I ve always had an artistic side, i am a singer. And my parents never heard me sing till i was 28 at a concert and they were really moved by my sensitivity and performance. It was a real surprise to me because as a child, the JW principles I was raised into were too much for me. I understand now that it s more the MISUNDERSTANDING of my parents and the LACK OF COMMUNICATION between us that made it heavy. Not the loving principles themselves. I miss now Jehovah and his organization. I live in Russia. Hello USA ! It is amazing how the JW organization is worldwide in unity and love and how this fact itself reflects the existence of God. Well Michael had a duality in his heart and I tend to think that he loved Jehovah but not enough to minimize his expression in art and music. He was forced by his father, he had to success and he was about to have the world at his feet (famous temptation). Should he have minimize it ? I am happy that he went his way because it would have been a crime if he had not expressed his wonderful artistic skills and show them to the world...in this way he was very brave. And he even preached to the world in a sense. He had to do it, it was bigger and stronger than him. But nobody knows the exact reason why he left JW and what exactly the elders said to him. They are so many nuances and slight personal emotions and words in these delicate situations that nobody can judge. Perhaps MJ just wanted to breathe and his heart was closed to spirituality by this time. And we have to recognize that for such children needing to express themselves it is quite hard to live a normal JW, moreover when they were raised in a strict way. I know because I endured it too, but I was so proud that I just couldn t listen to men elders advice me what to do. I was tired of having the feeling to be enclosed in walls of purity. Life and experience are NECESSARY for children raised JW who felt pressure in their youth, even positive pressure. This is a very a delicate question but I m sure Jehovah understands each case because he wants people to be ATTRACTED to him AND LOVE HIM but not coming under pressure. With the flowing time though, you understand alone, yourself, that this world has deeply nothing to give but fashion. It s empty, vanity. Everything goes away. What it the purpose of life ? What are the real answers, the real reason to this chaos ? Are we humans really alone on earth being born from nothing, coming from animals? These questions go around in all minds but few really want to answer to it. Well, be sure that it didn t go one day without MJ thinking about Jehovah, even unconsciously, when I see how spiritual he was, I am amazed. But imagine how hard it should have been to come back to JW when all the media are looking at you, and observing any of your gestures. Imagine Michael is coming at your door, he would have been sexually abused lots of time I bet, poor him (joke). That s why each case and each person is unique and only Jehovah reads the hearts. What a comforting idea. No matter what human say or think about you, each person itself will personally deal with God. So each of us has to scrutinize his own personality and way of life first. Talk to the "Man in the mirror" and "Keep the faith" !!!!! Hope to talk to some of you later, to the woman talking about the age of the planet too, because I am highly interested in this question too. Please, I need to share with people. Feel free to answer. smilies/wink.gif Have a nice night....No for you it s morning.

None of us who don't know MJ personally will never really know why he left the truth. Jehovah gave him a wonderful gift but it was up to Michael to decide what the appropriate use of his talent would be. Maybe the hunger for fame became too strong for him to give up? With Michael he could never be a performer and not be big in the world, his talent was too overwhelming. Its a shame he disassociated himself and maybe he had regrets, but one thing for sure is that he must have believed in God's word. If not, why did he want his mother to care for his children after his death? He knew she would be taking them to the KH and having bible studies with them. If he was truly against the truth then he would have willed his children to someone elses care surely, and Katherine an elderly lady too. He did the right thing in the end. His death has wiped his slate clean, and those of us who are fortunate enough to either survive Armageddon or have a resurrection can look forward to meeting a beautiful, trouble-free Michael, and isn't there more chance he will devote himself to Jehovah at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ? Imagine, we can have bible studies with Michael in that time!

Iv studied with the jehovah wittness off and on for years now .I seem to always go back to the truth but,Im having a hard time with giving up the holidays. How do i deal with that.I just cant close my eyes at christmas because i love to see the lights. And i love birhday cake and presents... Does anyone feel like i do?And if so how do you cope with the guilt?

I've been studying as a Jehovah's Witness for years. I'm 17 in San Diego and i'm in the School. As for your question, I had a tough time leaving holiday celebrations but we have to understand that tthese are man-made and Christmas is based off of pagan beliefs. Even though in most JW homes, even speaking of holidays is wrong, I still watch and enjoy holiday specials and look at lights. After a while, you'll get over it. We can get gifts whenever we want, as well as candy, and meet for family dinner. We don't have to wait.

I think that everyone shud stop juging people. Its ridiculous. Just let people be who they want to be and leave them alone. You don't have to live their life so why does everyone care so much. It doesn't matter what religion, colour, wealth or race you are. Get over it, where all people at the end of the day, so let us be who we want to. x

Christmas, mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, etc. are ways for merchants to make money. They do not mean a thing. Once Satan took over the earth, he began influencing people that MONEY, FAME, POWER, GLORY, etc. is what bring people to happiness. NOT JEHOVAH. And people that do not study the word of God will easily believe that because that lifestyle is EASIER than living the way Jehovah intended for you to. Jehovah Witnesses meet weekly in order to KEEP LEARNING so they can keep STRIVING to follow God's will. Of course there are going to be nonbelievers-it says it in the Bible...

I myself is a Jehovahs Witness, we know the fact that many would find it difficult to understand what we believed, we have been shunned and persucuted several times..but it does not in any way make us feel despair, i guess thats the true gift of being a Jehovahs Witness, we always cling to the hope that Jehovah had given us..the hope of an eternal life in a paradise earth..regarding those celebrities that had been disfellowed, the organization has to do it to direct its members who had sinned to the right path..and its not something that the Jehovahs Witness had invented, it is in the bible..the organization might be strict but the rules are not of their own, they are just trying to follow bible standards no matter how hard is it at times..i was borned and raised a Jehovahs Witness..i never experienced celebrate Christmas, Holoween and the likes, but i could confidently say that im truly happy living a simple life anchored by Jehovahs Standard..as i observed my cousins now who refused to be a Jehovahs Witness because they cant give up things that Jehovah told us to avoid...i fet very much happy and grateful to my parents that they brought me and my sister to the right path..my cousins who refused to served Jehovah had always been anxious how their business would run and provide profit, or how will they make it abroad to earn more money..Thanks to Jehovah we are free from that..i am not saying that Jehovahs witness do not work at all, i work in an office 5 days a week, but our top priority is always our relationship with Jehovah, and it provides us a sense of security that money and this world cant offer...i dont want to judge anyone..and it is not my intention when i posted this comment..only that,i just wanna share how wonderful my life had been since i've been a witness...thanks to Jehovah and his organization..and its not true that disfellowshipped members in the congregation were treated harshly..of course they were shunned for a while until they were able to gain back thier relationship to Jehovah, but we accept them warmly and all heartely after they repent...in fact i have 2 cousins who are now disfellowed i dont associate with them for now..but im so excited to see them once again active in the ministry..aud i know it would happen cause they are truly repentant..thats how we see a brother or sister who had seen we constantly pray that they once again gain thier relationship with Jehovah, we shunned them but we never judge them..we are all sinners..only that we have to follow Jehovahs high standard of dicsiplining is people..and after they repent we once again accept them without any doubt.

Serena Williams and her sister should both be disfellowshipped. They both dress like WHORE SLUTS,and they put fame, money, adulation and self-absorption well before Jehovah God. They clearly live for the world and any other witness would have been disfellowshipped years ago. Google images to see how they expose almost their entire bodies to the world. Serena Williams in her last tennis match said she would kill a lineswoman and shove the tennis ball down her F&^#% throat, TWICE SHE SAID IT. She also swung her racket at her. Yeah, real good witness, what a laugh. Both a couple of hypocrites. DISGUSTING.

Both of these William sisters have made more then most Jehovah Witnesses will make in five life times, but, yet they continue to want more. Both phony Witnesses, and only SMEAR the name of Jehovah and the Jehovah Witnesses by their DRESS, mannerism, money loving, seeking worldly adulation and love of the World and what is has to offer. They both make me want to puke.

I BELIEVE THAT GOD SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, JESUS CHRIST SO THAT WE MIGHT BE SAVED! I ACCEPT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS MY PERSONAL SAVIOR AND RECOGNIZED AND RESPECT THAT HE DIED FOR MY SINS. IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, "THE TRUTH" AS IT IS AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN TENDS (IN MY OPINION) TO ADOPT CERTAIN BIBLE SCRIPTURES AND INTERPRET THEM IN A WAY TO MAKE ONE FEEL AS THOUGH BEING A JEHOVAH WITNESS IS THE ONLY WAY TO PLEASE GOD OR FOR THAT MATTER, GET INTO HEAVEN. I THINK WHEN THE TIME ARISES, THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOME SHOCKS,SOME SHAKEN UPS, AND MANY SURPRISES TO ALL THOSE WHO TEND TO "PARAPHRASE" THE WORD OF GOD, JUST TO SUIT THEIR IMMEDIATE POINT, WITHOUT THE WHOLE PICTURE. I WILL NEVER DISFELLOWSHIP MYSELF FROM AND MY SPOUSE, MY CHILDREN, MY PARENTS, MY FAMILY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. GOD IS LOVE AND HIS LOVE ENDURETH FOREVER, SO NO MATTER WHAT LIFE BRINGS, I'M GOING TO BE THERE FOR MY FAMILY, END OF STORY. I AM A PRAYING WOMAN. I PRAY FOR ALL, INCLUDIND MUSLIMS AND FIVE PERCENTERS AND THEY DON'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS AS THE SAVIOR, BUT MY LOVE EXTEND TO EVERYONE, BECAUSE GOD EXHIBITS LOVE TO ALL OF US. BE MINDFUL, ONLY THE FATHER CAN JUDGE, AND THOSE WHO THINK THEY HAVE A FIRST CLASS TICKET TO HEAVEN, JUST MIGHT BE SURPRISED. REMEMBER GOD'S THOUGHTS ARE NOT ARE THOUGHTS, AND IN FACT, OUR THOUGHTS ARE FAR OFF. MY HOPE IS THAT ONE DAY, WE CAN ACCEPT OUR DIFFERENCES AND GET ON WITH LIFE WITHOUT ALL THE DIVISIONS, AND DISFELLOWSHIP. YOU NEED TO BE RIGHT WITH THE FATHER, NOT WITH KINDOM HALL THAT ARE RUN BY WHAT.... OTHER PEOPLE, SINNERS ALL THE SAME. BE CAREFUL, VERY CAREFUL. I'M WISHING HAPPY THANKSGIVING, MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HANNUKAH, KWAANZA, NEW YEARS, MLK DAY, EASTER, MEMORIAL DAY, VETERANS DAY(MY HUSBAND WENT TO WAR FOR THIS COUNTRY!), BIRTHDAYS, AND ALL OTHER OCCASIONS MY FAMILY AND I WANT TO CELEBRATE. GOD MADE THESE DAYS POSSIBLE. AND THERE NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING THANKFUL....THANK YOU JESUS FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF LIFE, THANK YOU JESUS FOR MY HUSBAND, THANK YOU JESUS FOR MY JOB, THANK YOU JESUS FOR MY VACATIONS, THANK YOU JESUS FOR ALLOWING US TO GATHER IN YOUR NAME, THANK YOU FOR THE HARD TIMES JESUS, THEY MAKE ME BETTER, THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD TIMES JESUS, I KNOW I'M KEEPING THE FAITH, THANK YOU JESUS, THANK YOU JESUS, THANK YOU JESUS!!!

WHAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IS THIS... JEHOVAHS WITNESSES PUT IN ALL THEIR TIME, EFFORT, RESOURCES ENERGY AND LOVE NOT FOR THEMSELVES BUT FOR OTHERS... PEOPLE ARE SO UNGRATEFUL & INCONSIDERATE THEY DON'T EVEN REALSIE THERE BEING THAT WAY. JEHOVAHS WITNESS ARE PERSECUTED DAILY FOR THERE BELEIFS BUT YET WHY ARE NO OTHER RELIGION SO HARSHLY PUNISHED OR CRITISIZED OR WRONGLY ACCUSED FOR THERE RELIGION??? PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER ME THAT. WHY DOES THE WORLD FEEL AS THOUGH THEY NEED TO ONLY PICK ON THE ONE RELIGION TO DOWN THE ONE TO HATE & HURT THE ONE RELIGION? JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ARE OUT THERE EVERYDAY FOR YOU TO HELP YOU TO SAVE YOU BUT ALL YOU DO IS SLAM THE DOORS SWEAR & ACT SO UNGRATEFUL, BUT WHAT DO THEY KEEP DOING??? THEY RETURN & RETURN & RETURN THEY DO ALL THIS BECAUSE THEY HAVE SUCH DEEP LOVE FOR THERE GOD JEHOVAH WHICH I AM SORRY BUT IS MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR MOST RELIGIONS, BUT HEY WE ARE NOT DETERED OR DISHEARTENED BY THESE THINGS BECAUSE WE ARE NOT UNACUSTOMEDTO SATANS DESIGNS. WE NO THAT THIS HAS TO BE THE WAY BECAUSE HOW ELSE WE WE STAND OUT DIFFERENT FROM THE REST. IF WE WEREN'T PERSECUTED HATED & FAULSELY ACCUSED THEN YES I WOULD BE WORRIED BUT VERY VERY VERY SOON WETHER THE WORLD LIKES IT OR NOT SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN AN JEHOVAHS NAME WILL BE KNOWN IN ALL THE INHABBITTED EARTH =)

I read thru some of the experinces and comments of famous and normal witnesses and i find them so sad. I started studying with the witnesses at the age of 9, because i really felt that i want to know JEHOVAH and serve him. I was to young to get baptised. I finally got baptised at the age of 21. I then went to serve as a volenteer at building a new branch office in South Africa.

Due to ill health i deceided of my own accord to notify the brothers of my intention to leave. The response from the brother in charge of home office was i quote "oh i suffer with asthma but i'm here, anyway if you want to go then just go" end quote.I left and went back to my local congragation. I continued trying to serve faithfully by attending all the meetings.

But at the meetings i can relate many an experience of how cruel and judgemental winesses are to each other

I do not feel hate in my heart for any witness but i do know that Jesus said that you would know his followers in that they would have love amoungst themselves. There is no love amoungst the witnesses. It is more about counting hours preaching and placing magazines and books. How can the organisation represent JEHOVAH, who is a GOD of love when they do not promote love.
I encourage every witness to stop judging and love your brothers and sisters to the point that you will sacrifice your self for them even in death, thats the love that Christ taught in the bible.

I was a jw. my father is an elder, i have uncles and aunts serving in bethel, as a matter of fact when i was born my dad was already an elder, that didnt make him any more responsible with us, to him his first obligation was his religion and hadnt it been for my mom many times we would have gone hungry jst because dude over there was too busy being a preacher to work hard and long to feed his family.i baptized n then left 2 months later,i wasnt disfellowshiped, i took the pleasure of writing a letter telling them how much i dispise their religion, whne i baptized i was 17 and jst wanted to show i could do it even if i didnt feel it, so how come the holy spirit of jehova didnt tell the elders i didnt really give a crap for their religion?.jehova witnesses have always acted as is this world was created for them to be in it, they are so arrogant they believe there is a god sitting up there all day all night just to watch what they do, say, think and feel.they act as if they were the biggest victims of the holocaust, they brag that they preach house to house when we all know its just to feel better about themeselves and write their little report every month, they feel they prove their love for god if they let another human being die instead of taking a blod transfussion, in such case their god is a monster.i think any god would be insulted to be used as an excuse for such stupidity.
i cant believe they, including my father believe the whole world is going to become a paradise with lions n snakes to play with! lmao, i mean stop watching so many cartoons, actually no, stop reading the bible because it wasnt written or insipired by a god, it was written by men, mere humans and their thoughts, a great book, yes but full of weed induced visions and myths, they believe jesus was the savior to them n the world, jesus was a great man, the best to ever exist if we go by what the bible says, but he was just a man with his own ideas, a man that was married and had at least one child, a man born to a great woman who deserves to be held in a high place.
my mom divorsd my father, my sisters and i are now grown ups and we had little contact with my father, we actually had to ask him to not talk about his religion to us, my sister has given her kids catholic baptism, we just had another great christmas and with us is a great man my mother married 14 years ago who took care of us instead of that lazy pants elder i have for a father.i hate it when they come to my door mostly because most of them look so miserable and it pisses me off how they are being lied to, whn they do come i ask them questions they cant answer and embarrass them with things they ignore about their religion, i hope they go and ask their elders about them or look it up online and realize the word BULLSHIT was invented to describe Jehova Witnesses' beliefs.

I served as an elder for a few years, five to be exact, I also served at bethel for over 10 years. One thing we have to remember is that we all show zeal for the truth is different ways, some in a very unhealthy manner on others in very balanced way. Finding this though is very hard. When I read a JW publication i tried to show as much balance as possible, never been over dogmatic. I never acted a police elder of the congregation. This is something that is very hard for many to do. The truth is that many elders in the congregation are mean and arrogant. When you find your self in a Judicial Committee they will treat you VERY HARSH if you're not their family member. They mistreat others like in the case of Michael Jackson and his family this is very common in the "loving organization" we belong to. That is why if we expect change it's going to be necessary to make changes first in our self's this in turn will help the congregation...

For De'Solo.

Hi. When I heard Prince was a witness, I was shocked. Because I remember many of his songs, especially the ones that weren't released, from some of the albums. They were smothered down with nothing but sexual innuendo and outright vulgarity.lol. Then, when I researched a bit, I found out that he wasn't a JW when those songs were created and released. He became a JW after. Actually, his new stuff is still edgy, just no vulgarity or illicit lyrics. Jackson, on the other hand, had been a JW since he was quite young, so he was called to task while still in the organization, for the content he was putting out at the time. Hope this answers your question. I had an answer because I researched the same thing, as I had the same question. Peace Out.

I was raised as a witness. Even though I have never been baptized; I know this is the true religion. No matter what I have done; JEHOVAH has never left my side. He hears my prayers. He gave his only begotten son for you and me! Could you do that? I couldn't. Read the book of Matthews 24. We are clearly living in the last days. I am proud to say that I have resumed my studies and am attending the meetings. With Jehovah's help and guidiance I will dedicate myself to him. I hope to see my father when Jehovah resurrects him. John 5:28,29 This is his promise to us. And the bible clearly states that Jehovah can not lie. Titus 1:2- upon the baiss of a hope of the everlasting life which God who cannot lie, promised before times long lasting.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to a brother, sister or elder they will be more than happy to teach you the truth. They can teach you with your own bible.

If someone kept lying to you over and over again, you would not be able to trust that person or believe what they had to say. Thier actions and words would have no meaning because they would become an unreliable source, and a liar. Yet because JW's are so deceived, so blind, so brainwashed, they let the organization lie to them, sweep sin under the carpet and control people by fear, and yet JW's still say it's the truth. It doesn't make sense at all. All of them are ignoring thier doubts because they think it's satan. What if it's the holy spirit tyring to get you out and point you in the right direction...the real truth. Jesus gives the eternal life, Jesus said each one could go to heaven, Jesus said ANYONE who comes to him can be saved. The enemy has used the WTS to distract people from the real focus. Obeying the organization rather than Jesus. This new religion should have been obvious as the very false teachers and false prophets that Jesus warned about. Even La Toya Jackson figured it out. Be honest with yourselves...really honest, you all know something is not quite right, yet you ignore it for fear of displeasing Jehovah and not surviving Armegeddon.

Galations 1:6-9

Only One Gospel

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

The WTS is accursed. The WTS had preached a totally different gospel. Why can't you all see it? You've been indoctrinated and brainwashed. That's why.

Don't allow yourselves to be deceived any longer. Please. Read the Bible alone, not accepting with no question the WT interpretation of it, read it for yourselves. Crisis of Concscience is also not what you've been told. Read it. What have you got to lose?

I wish Michael had seen that life in Gods new world is better than any fame or fortune this world has to offer. Did it make him happy? Michael Jackson was an imperfect human ,like us all .He was very loving sensitive individual ,who only wanted make people feel good.Yes he knew Jehovah God and more impotantly Jehovah knew Michael, better than any one human ,the scritures remind us that Jehovah knows even how many hairs are on our imperfect heads! And he takes care of the earth and all humans good ,bad. Only Jehovah, knew his heart. Jehovah, is good and I believe Michael Jackson will be in Paradise on Earth. Perhaps his sisters and brothers will turn to Jehovah, like myself. The end is very near you can just turn on the news and everything is sooooo bad it scares me. Paradise is going to be such a happy place. I pray that his children search for Jehovah, and his family before is to late. I pray that my husband that is Jewish, will listen to me oneday and believe in Jehovah son Jesus Christ. AMEN

La Toya is such a liar LOL. JW's don't even talk the way she described. Nor do elders have big meetings or use words like shun. When someone is disfellowshipped the idea is that you should limit your association with them. Only talking to them about certain matters. Not shun them forever. The reasoning is that one day they will return if they miss your close association.

I find it strange that, for as far as I have seen only one person addresses the problem of believing any religion at all. The fact that a book states it contains the truth, as the bible does, doesn't take away the possibility for that book to be lying. I leave in the middle here whether JW's are a force for good or evil and leave you to interpret these terms yourself.

Rather I wish to address your reason as you read this. Science has provided ample reason to believe their claims. Since we do have a horizon of knowledge it will always take a leap of fate to believe anything science claims, yet even if you question science, then the burden of proof lies with you. What reasons (and I'm not asking for religious mumbling here, but actual facts) does one have to doubt science and accept any religious alternative being backed by as many facts as a fairytale. For short, saying science got it wrong, doesn't mean you've got it right. Science know's it doesn't know everything, but this doesn't give you an excuse to fill in the gaps with any nonsense you feel comfortable with.

Whether any particular religion is a force for good or evil is a practical question that I can't be bothered with here. The factual evidence provided by religious groups including Jw's gives their version of the truth as much credibility as any drug induced delusion one might have. I'm sure that any believer would quantify delusions (certainly drug induced ones) to be untrue due to the fact that it is unreasonable to believe them over the vast amount of factual evidence we have for actual reality.

Even from a religious point of view, ascribing to a particular religious view without ample backing of factual information seems iffy at best and leaves a gaping hole for a devil to leap in. The devil is the father of lies(according to the bible), but for us to know what are and what aren't lies requires a process we daily use when we assess whether it is safe to cross the road; our reason. It is, based upon the evidence, for us reasonable the believe one thing over another. Any religious view that contrasts with scientific knowledge and without the backing of persistent, ample, factual evidence can be considered untrue since it is for anyone more reasonable to believe in a factually backed alternative; namely science. As it can be considered untrue it can be considered a lie and thus the work of the devil. Rest assured, my dear believers, I have no factual evidence for the existence of the devil let alone any of his works, so my assessment of our faith is not backed by any factual evidence. My point is that this doesn't seem to be a problem for you and for that reason it would be, from you point of view, just as reasonable to believe your faith is the work of the devil, as it is to believe it the work of god, or Zeus for that matter, or the Great Spaghetti-monster.

No matter how good your faith is and no matter how fine the works done in its name, any believer cannot escape the fact that they have no reasonable basis for their believes and that, however beautiful and glorious their world might seem to them, this view is based on deception at best and that this is not a very enviable position to be in. In short, the fact that your religious believes and practices make you happy should still not be a reason for anyone to want to believe in unreasonable things.

And here we come to the only, though not exhaustive, little argument a wish to raise against religion here. The fact that believing doesn't need reason to take place to begin with. It bypasses reason in a most efficient manner. People don't have to believe, they want to believe. Some would say they even need to believe. And it is to fulfill their desire to be part of something that is both greater and good, that reason is abandoned and religious organisations come into play. For they do not provide the believer with facts and evidence to back up their claims but just a place for the believer to be their glorious, righteous, little selves as the crown on gods creation. That part always makes me smilesmilies/smiley.gif

On another note. No, the world is not coming to an end. The factual evidence is, that it isn't even getting worse. It's getting better. Please do not be fooled by the fatalistic arguments religious people like to use to persuade you with fear, rather then conviction. It is a brave new world out there and all should do their best to improve it now, rather than wait for gods wrath to come down on us and set things right. I find I kind of like this placesmilies/smiley.gif

When Michael did Thriller it was fabulous ¡ thank you Michael Jackson! He was not his choice be an artist because he started with 5 years. ¿ Is it possible that a 5 years child decided his future alone? It was the decision of his father and the mother didn’t do anything
Lather he do “ghosts” he explain with this long video that fear is just fun. If you have a healthy mine you can anderstand.¿ Why need a good boy like Michael Jackson feel that he does something wrong with Thriller when he didn’t? ¿Didn’t see you never scary movies like Dracula, the werewolf….?
I thing that judge the persons like the elder Jehova´s witnesses is not good ¿is this the way of Jesus?
A shy and young person like Michael did suffer a lot because he need to be a star and do a good job as an artist for his father and also follow de rules of the religion’s mother. ¡That is too much!
Imagine a life like Jackson ¿ you will do better?
Sorry for the mistakes I am just learning English I am from Italy.

So how can Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be Jehovah's people if they do not believe 2 Timoth 2:5 when it says "thereis one God; there is also one mediator between God and humankind, Christ Jesus, human himself." According to the Watchtower, the scripture is incorrect and Jesus is only mediator between God and the 144,000. If this is the case, how can you approach Jehovah in prayer if Jesus is not your mediator (John 14:13,14)?

According to the Watchtower, the only reason Jehovah's Witness will be saved is because of their loyalty to the organization, not Jesus or God. That is from a recent issue!

So, do Jehovah's Witnesses follow the Bible or The Watchtower? Before any JWs answer, consider this:

The following scripture are clear, Jesus became king upon his resurrection:

Rev. 3:21 - Jesus says that he has conquered and sat down on his throne.

Col 1:13,14 - Paul indicates that the Kingdom has already been established

Matt 28:18 - the resurrected Jesus says that ALL AUTHORITY has been given to him in heaven and on earth.

Eph 1:20-23 - After raised from the dead all things were subjected under his feet. Not just the congregation.

Col. 2:10 - Christ is the head of all government

Rev. 1:5 - John refers to Jesus as the ruler of the Kings of the earth!!!

Yet the Watchtower states without question that Jesus became king in heaven in 1914. Who is right? The Watchtower clearly teaches that Jesus and Paul were incorrect when they said what they said in the Bible.

If you side with the Watchtower, who do you really worship.

As for conduct, Mormons are much more moral that JWs. They have happier families and less divorce. More of their children stay in the faith. They also preach, have missionaries worldwide, and are growing much faster than the Witnesses in Africa and Asia.

Any religion that bans Christmas, Easter, Birthdays celebrations etc must be a very sick religion indeed. I cannot imagine how sad my childhood would have been without these happy events. JW are the grinches of the religious world. The group that banned Christmas!!! Sounds like something that Satan would do.

But the thing that really gets me upset is that JW parents will happily let their children die instead of allowing them a blood transfusion. This is the most tragic part of the JW organization and it is just plain insanity. It shows just how brainwashed they are. The Watchtower has got such a strong grip over the minds of it's members that parents will sacrifice their own children for their so called "god" by refusing their child a blood transfusion. This is pure madness and it is evil. I have some JW that I consider my friends but as hard as I have tried I cannot free their minds from this almighty powerful Watchtower. I feel so sorry for my friends should they ever have to be faced with a situation that requires either themselves or their children to be saved by using a blood transfusion. Yes there are many situations where only a blood transfusion can save lives!!

Before Jesus Christ died and after he died no Christians Celebrate Christmas or birthday of Jesus Christ(even Jesus Christ didn't celebrate his birthday nor he tells his apostle to do so), there are no biblical account that tells all Christians celebrate Christmas. And if the Birth of Christ is so special why the bible didn't tell us the exact date of His Only Son's Birth? Go Figure it out!

Blood Transfusion -
Genesis 9:4 ; Leviticus 17:10 ; Acts 15:29)- all considering Christians must know this things. i believe that against that clear text might consider himself a non-Christian.

here are some outcome of not doing the right thing.

IT DOES'NT MATTER WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF US, EVERYTHING WE DO IS SCRIPTURAL AND YES WE'RE IMPERFECT AND MAKE MISTAKES BUT REMEMBER JESUS SAID HIS DISCIPLES WILL ALSO BE HATED,WE JUST NEED TO KEEP SEARCHING FOR THE SHEEP LIKE ONES AND NOT LET SATAN DRAG US DOWN, HIS TIME IS SHORT WE KNOW IT AND HE KNOWS IT, AND REMEMBER- THIS IS WHY JAH ALLOWED TIME TO GO ON BECAUSE HE DESIRE FOR NO ONE TO BE DESTROYED BUT TO HAVE EVER LASTING LIFE, CONTINUE THE RACE AND STAY ON THAT NARROW GATE AND DON'T LET THIS SYSTEM SWERVE YOU OUTSIDE THAT ROAD,THE SIGNS ARE HERE WE'RE SEING MORE AND MORE OF BABYLON BEING ATTACK,REMEMBER FRIENDS (MATTHEW 24:14) (MATHEW 24:3-smilies/cool.gif (2TIMOTHY 3:1-7) NOTHING SHOULD SEPARATE OUR LOVE FOR JAH. AND (THEY) WILL HAVE TO KNOW JAH. SEEK KINGDOM INTEREST FIRST.

The stuff being written here by the God fearing Jehovah Witnesses is proof of their insanity. Not much more can be said. You people are just plain brainwashed to the hilt. Nothing can save you until something shakes you out of your insanity... hope it happens for you soon though before you let your children die or yourselves die for some silly old men that call themslevs the watchtower.

The Truth About Blood Transfusions

"About one in every 500,000 people who receive a blood tranfusion dies as a result, according to a 1997 paper in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology."

Ok peoples this is the truth of the matter please don't get sucked into this utter garbage and lies being promoted by the Jehovahs Witnesses. It is about time legal action was taken against these people for deliberatly attempting to mislead others whereby it could cause loss of life.

Cindy, a regular teenager

ok, i grew up in this religion. and its true, YOU DONT KNOW until you are in it. there will be ppl who will stab u in the back, ppl who do bad things and ppl who will have a bad attitude towards u even if theyr jehovahs witnesses.... BUT regardless, thts theyr problem they have to deal with Jehovah on their own account on their behavior. everyone lives their own life and just because ppl act a certain way, if theyr ashamed or whatever about their religion then thts their own problem. u cant judge a religion based on individuals. its lik saying black ppl are cheap and like to steal and theyr ghetto. UNTRUE. those r stereotypes by HATERS. i love my religion because despite my imperfectness and all the mistakes i have done and the way ppl might look at me, this is the TRUTH. ppl cant handle it so they find reasons to hate it. jesus said tht the world wud hate us. all we do is follow the bible EXACTLY. since we are imperfect ofcourse were gna screw up once in awhile bt u cannot hate and disrespect us. alot of ppl malinterpret the bible like catholics in the past tht said tht the earth was flat, until magellan (nt even a witness) made the discovery tht the catholic church was bologna. noone can find flaws in the way we are raised, taught and the rules we follow by jehovah god. ppl look for the flaws in witnesses not the religion. i read all of the comments and this is from my heart. u follow the bible and ur good smilies/smiley.gif
and to the girl with the psycho JW boyfriend. im 18 and its pretty hard to find someone ur interested tht is a JW, take it from experience but the reason he cant find anyone is because he isnt letting god into his heart, he is ashamed which is sad. his spirituality was pretty low bt he knows wats the truth regardless. u shud respect his religion because if he his upset at u for making disrespectful comments then that is definetly ur fault. it is lik if someone was to diss you. if he loves u he wud gt upset. he loves god deep down so respect that. ...well im happy i found someone thts a JW ...ur life is so much easier wen u have the same morals smilies/smiley.gif

The "Truth" is that it's so sad to read some of these comments. I am so sorry that an earthly organization can have such a hold over peoples lives. After leaving because they cannot live up to the expectations of the elders or society they feel guilty about their lives. No man is to judge! Christ died to forgive us of our sins and his grace saves us. It's so simple and clear.
