Charles Taze Russell's instructions for his funeral:

I desire to be buried in the plot of ground owned by our Society, in the Rosemont United Cemetery, and all the details of arrangements respecting the funeral service I leave in the care of my sister, Mrs. M. M. Land, and her daughters, Alice and May, or such of them as may survive me, with the assistance and advice and cooperation of the brethren, as they may request the same. Instead of an ordinary funeral discourse, I request that they arrange to have a number of the brethren, accustomed to public speaking, make a few remarks each, that the service be very simple and inexpensive and that it be conducted in the Bible House Chapel or any other place that may be considered equally appropriate or more so.

For those wishing to visit the gravesite:

The area is the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. It is in the "Rosemont United Cemeteries at Allegheny, in the Bethel Family plot, according to his request." (Jehovah's Witnesses In The Divine Purpose, 1959, p. 62)

The street is named Cemetery Lane. It is where BABCOCK BLVD and MCKNIGHT RD intersect. McNight Rd is a large freeway. There is a Babcock Blvd exit off of McKnight Road. Go West on Babcock Blvd. Cemetery Lane will be a left turn off of Babcock. The pyramid is BEFORE you get to the top of the hill on the right side. You can see it from the road. It is maybe 30 to 40 feet into the cemetery. Or, simpler directions for others: Take Interstate 179 to Exit 12, which is Cemetery Lane. Follow Cemetery Lane to the gravesite.

Why is this pyramid memorial close by to Russell's grave site not said about in any of WTBTS books or mags? I have the watchtower library cd-rom 2008 and it does not say anything about this pyramid memorial at Russell's grave site. I wonder why?

There are many secrets the JW's hide about the past like using pyramid and crosses. The very old literature that Charles T. Russell wrote are hidden away in the Watchtowers library an only a few chosen are allowed to enter this library. You can't ask an elder for he will call you an apostate, but there are many resources in the internet you can find for answers. http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Cults/jw.htm

None of Jehovah's Witnesses care what Russell did and they don't teach any of his teachings. Russell is dead and so are his ideas. The only thing that matters is what does the bible say. Jehovah's Witnesses have changed many of their ideas and progressed to where they stand today. JWs do not defend Russell's teachings but acknowledge that he and others did not have as complete an understanding as JWs do now. Russell is not considered to be prophet whose word should change what the bible teaches. That would be like the Catholics and Baptist who have taken the divine name Jehovah out of the Bible.

In response to Retardo Idiot, in the August 15, 2009 Watchtower the JW's actually do embrace and defend Russell (albeit trying to whitewash his record by selective citation). And Russell and his adherents are on record as claiming him and his organization to be predictive prophets.

yer we understand more now what the Bible teaches thanks to open minded research::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The most interesting question is this since God wrote the Bible or inspired men to write it::::
Why would God in all his infinite wisdom allow imperfect humans all are sinners and can be corrupted of course as you well know to interprete it:::::
Why are people interpreting it::::::::::::::::::
surely God would interprete it why are people interpreting why write something that needs interpreting in the first place
why not just have something plane and clear:::::::::
in the first place why all the confusion over the interpretations think about it

It is funny seeing this picture because I am researching this religion to get my mother out of it. The WBTS has a pisture of the gavestone in the book "proclaimers of god's kingdom" pg. 64 but it doesn't show the pyramid. Something to note that might help people with family trapped in the same dilusion as my mother: The WBTS makes it known that Jesus came to inspect the organization in 1918 (invisibly....LOL) and found it to be clean. Finding what they taught in 1918 is KEY to deprogramming a JW. They will say that "the light gets brighter!" Thinking people can easily refute this claim, as it is true that the same can be said of all religions.

Is'nt it funny how people latch on to something as trivial as an old piece of stone? So Charles Russell made mistakes but since that time Jehovah's Witnesses have continually returned to the bible and corrected their mistakes unlike the established churches that are still teaching doctrines that are thousands of years old and are not in harmony with the bible. Brian why would you want to take your Mum away from something that obviously means a lot to her. Granted Jehovah's Witnesses are imperfect people but they do care about people so you know that your Mum would always be loved. As to your remark that all religions would say that the light gets brighter well then what are they doing about it. You may think that associating with the witnesses will not do your Mum any good but it certainly won't do her any harm. We go to peoples houses not intimidate but to give them a hope for the future, is that so bad?

The problem with the Jehovah's Witnesses organization is that the foundation is flawed. Charles T. Russell founded the religion and is therefore it's foundation. When your basic doctrine is based on satanic teachings, then the whole religion is incorrect...no matter how many times you claim to correct your teachings (the light getting brighter and brighter).

So why did the Watchtower use a Spirit medium?

Johannes Greber as a spiritist and author of the book, "Communication With the Spirit World: Its Laws and Its Purpose. The Watchtower quote Johannes Greber's bible translation from 1962 to 1976 to support their doctrines all the while knowing that he was a spirit medium.

Charles T. Russell also has Masonic teachings woven through out the JW religion. See the link below. I can testify that my parents have some of the JW books in their vast library and I have seen the symbols of Ra the sun god...or shall I say Nimrod/Baal and Ashtaroth. http://www.sixscreensofthewatc...sell2.html

There are so many other direct connections of satanic influence. It would take up too much space on this forum. I hope that JW's wake up and wake up soon before it's too late. I do know that Jehovah's Witnesses are more loyal to the Watchtower than they are to God. Sad but true. "Don't speak against the Society, you are encouraging Apostate thinking."

Thank you very much for posting the pictures, it is more than evident that C T Russell was a Free Mason. I have recently read old articles where he and Rutherford were supporting the teaching of repatriation of the Jews to Israel, they were active Zionists note the name "Zion's watchtower" And we who know anything about Zionism, know its purely satanic, they are trying to re-build the temple for the false christ to sit in. I personally believe satan saw Jehovah's plan for a people with his name, and he used it to lure gods people, but despite the fact Jehovah has aloud it as a test on his own people. Lets be honest when has gods people never turned to Baal worship?. I believe like the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem the watchtower has the same fate. And many will be severely tested not knowing the way out.
e-watchman's site is excellent for discussing these matters. But hold fast to Jehovah as the bible says "in the last days the true knowledge would become abundant" and I think this is in more ways than one!

Wake up and go where or do what? Name a religious organization or group that hasn't been founded in a similar way or is as flawed as the JW's are.

I was raised as a Witness, got baptized as one at age 12, and finally left -at will- when I was 26 but it wasn't because I found "the truth" with the Catholics, or the Born Again Christians,(although I have to admit it would be easier and more fun to belong to one these other "Christian" groups - you don't have to do anything just "believe in your heart" and you can do whatever you want) or the Mormons, or any of the non-"Christian" religious groups.

Every religious group -regardless of their name- CLAIMS they represent "the true god" and have "the truth" and everyone else is wrong and condemned to "destruction" or "hell".

So, where do you go if you are one of those needy people who need to be part of a group or church to feel good?

I am not one of those people

but I see many, many, many people are like that.

It seems like some of you were sent to earth and assigned the duty of taking your families and other people out of false religions and that must be a fantastic assignment ...

I just wonder after showing your mothers and sisters --these grave's pictures, for instance --- as more evidence of what you have been telling them and excitedly proving to them ---again --- your point .... Then... What? What is next? What will you offer them instead?

JSS, i love the comment i also have struggled on where to go or what " people" to find and who has the "truth" or whatever its called now. I also left the JW because something in my heart was telling me something was wrong, and as i grew up i saw the fruits of this religion , and the fruit was rotten. i didn't make it that way it just is. So i understand these people who are exposing their families or friends of the hypocrisy , but yes where do we go. So one thing you have to do is unbrainwash yourself from everything you know and learned. Since you were brought up JW since youth you started on a bad road already, so once you've let go of this religion being the "one" true religion then you will be able to move on. The next step is to unlearn their translation on their bible, and i say their bible cause they use the word " Jehovah" as a label, if they could put it on a shirt , they would. Do you really thing we could even understand or even interpret the name of the one true god just because they say theyve translated it that way, that is very scary and egocentric cause if it isn't, then who have you been praying to and worshipping. The story of also the jews deliberately translating to yhwh to a watered down version that is jehovah was that they didn't want to get in trouble for interpreting the name of god wrong and the JW,s translated that word for their own .gen 28:13- i am jehovah the god of abraham your father and the god of isaac. ( NW translation) Ex 6:3 spoken to moses " I used to appear to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty, but as respects my name Jehovah I did not make myself known to them ( NW translation) if if only takes one error to be imperfect, how can the watchtower claim that the NWT is god pure and perfect word. Find yourself an Authorized Version of The Holy Bible, not copy-written, stay away from zondervan or their parent, since they publish the satanic versus also, i think that would be a conflict , wouldn't you, and start from the beginning and start learning Jesus teaching all over , and you will see that you wont find a tribe of people or a group or religion, that it will be a narrow road of a few who will know Christ and once you break the bonds of "works" and having to work your way into heaven, doesn't coincide with the two that were on the cross of stake or tree next to jesus, and the one who just believed that he was the christ and christ telling him he would be by his side in heaven for just having faith, thats all you need. sounds like a fairy tale, but you've brainwashed into thinking that you have to be accounted on a point system that the watchtower will deem you worthy if you go door to door everyday or to everyone in the world, then the end will come. The word of Christ is global already, so its up to you to find your path.

The Watchtower Socity is another man-made-religion, like many others that exists today. What they call "The Truth" is their own version of the truth, not the Bible truth. They have a way of manipulating what they call Bible truth to make them sound so good and real. They fit the words of Jesus recorded in the Bible that states, "They make the Word of God invalid by their traditions". I am now reading the Bible and really understanding for the first time. The Society does not encourage deep Bible reading. They want you to believe what they teach, like all tdhose lies about the end of tshe world. 1874, 1914, 1925,1975 and many others. What a bunch of phonies.
Do your own homework before you get involved with them. They say they will study the Bible with you and then pull out a man-made book to study, not the Bible. The switch tactic. The put on a good act as being real christians, but watch out. They will stab you in the back in a split second given the chance. I found out the hard way. They go door-to-door trying to make converts but cannot even take care of their own. Once they have you in their clutch you are just another number.

Wow this is very intresting.. Doesnt the Bible say that if we draw near to him he will draw near to us?
and that there is only 1 mediator between God and Man.. And that's not the WT...
I speak to JW's all the time when they come here and all of them say the same thing.. But none could answer one question... why would God (Jehovah) send Jesus if we would have to work for our salvation? I little advice, "Test all spirits"... Challenge all teachings and ask God (Jehovah) to reveal himself to you..

Keep up the good work, people such as yourself are even mentioned in the Bible itself. (Matthew 18:7) “Woe to the world due to the stumbling blocks! Of course, the stumbling blocks must of necessity come, but woe to the man through whom the stumbling block comes." It is people such as yourself that God is using to weed out any unworthy people from the true worshipers. And when you have fulfilled your role, God has more awaiting you. (Matthew 13:41-43) . . .The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will collect out from his kingdom all things that cause stumbling and persons who are doing lawlessness, 42 and they will pitch them into the fiery furnace. There is where [their] weeping and the gnashing of [their] teeth will be. 43 At that time the righteous ones will shine as brightly as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Let him that has ears listen.

I get so angry at stupid people as thats all we are! We know nothing. The bible was written by man has any body witnessed the bibles creation ? Yes moses partly, one man according to the bible, why believe the bible, it is cleverly written? Obviously love exists on earth so if we need to do anything its practice love and forget religion and bible interpretations.Whatever created us probably wants us to live in freedom and love each other. I dream just like you that hope is not a dream. We just try to delude each other the same way as our greed for money.

We need the freedom to chose who we want to be and who we want to believe in. We were given freedom and choice to make in our lives. But these JW's do not have any freedom to think for themselves. If they were to question the organization, they would be looked down upon. In that case, that is just plain stupidity on the part of the organizstion, afraid of being question. When we question anything in our lives, it is to come to an understanding and to fulfill knowledge. It is on the part of the Organization that lacks security that they are being questioned about their beliefs. There is nothing wrong in questioning the beliefs and the existence of God and His Son Jesus Christ.
To disfellowship, to disassociate anyone just because they asked, or for any other type of wrongdoing...is the most dangerous behaviour man can apply to another human being. Man must learn to forgive and forget another's transgression.
And on the blood issue...it is time to get real, JW's. Blood that flows within the human body is a major component in keeping a person alive.
In my opinion, JW's are a controlling religious group of people who really don't allow any freedom for growth, spiritual growth, mental and emotional growth.
What I read in Shaun's research on JW's of what you cannot do, reaaly surprised. Some of it is trivial that JW's cannot do and not based on reality. I enjoyed watching on TV " Touched By An Angel". That was a very good show.

Why do people waste their time banging other religions, listen people Time is running out -- Jesus is coming soon!! Jesus said that he will leave us a comforter [The Holy Spirit] who will teach us all things, not some things, but all things, therefore we need to pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth, and will speak only what the Father asks him to speak -- we need to concentrate on the Holy Spirit more, He would reveal all things to us. The Bible says that God so love the world that he gave his only begotton Son to die for us, to take our place so not one of us shall perish -- so people we are not to spend time pointing fingers at anyone, but take on His nature, which is LOVE -- we have to be love, to show love; by your fruits you shall know them -- we are to bear these fruits -- love, joy, peace, longsuffering etc... May God Bless you all and seek Him while you can find Him ...

never mind about the pyramid . Please look at the recent teaching i.e. about the Trinity . the Watchtower people say in their literature ( Should We Believe In The Trinity ? ) that the Early Church Fathers did not teach the divinity of Christ . This is another WT lie .Please check out the writings of people like Iraneaus , Tetullian etc. for YOURSELF you will soon find the truth . Yes they will harm that mans mum when they brainwash her into believing this blasphemy . Please show your mum this stuff . It may help her to see the extent of their falsehood Janet

Biblical Salvation is a free gift of God. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. There is no works involved in it. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

If you as a JW believe Jesus died on a stick, then what is the cross doing on that pyramid? On the thought there was not enough wood to create crosses for all who were crucified? And did Jesus fall three times carrying his post, or his cross?

Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

You are of free-will. Can you question your church and its closed mind? Why is it so insecure? Must you be a drone? Must you be shunned for being human? Love thy neighbor ...

Mr Russell started to discover the truth,he died before he could discover or uncover other truths or changes, then Ruterford took over, and the good thing about Jehovah' Witnesses is that they change and admit their teachings when proven wronge FROM THE BIBLE. From the time Mr Russell started till now, there has been a tramendous corection and improvement. Yes non of these men were perfect, but they tried to discover the bible and now the withnesses are trying as imperfect people to go according to the bible. If you look at their fruits,(works) you would see that they are truly following the bible to the best of their ability..and not one is following any maisonic teachings..so that was a false accusation on Mr Russel, even the maisonic group admits that...yes THE LIGHT IS GETTING BRIGHTER AND BRIGHTER. Jesus says by thier fruits you will know my diciples...

Satan is in control of the entire earth, so why would he not have control of the bible?
He will find his way into every organization & even yor home ( if u let him n t.v, books, thoughts) the bible seems to be tamperd with granted, but u can still find good direction

& teaching . The 1 of the keys to life is to not to be worried about if the bible is right Or if Charles T Russel is really a Satanist, Worry about yor self and yor immeadiate family.

My grandfather is a JW and he's 86 years old . He always tells me " The only thing that matters in this world is your personal relationship with the Creator "

Don't look at the next man or women that is the head or a part of any group and say see look they aren't right look at how they are living. Just because they aren't living right doesn't mean you have to forget yor morals.

The bottm line is none of us are perfect in noway so let's stop holdn other people to standards that we are not going to try to achieve !!!

Dear m , to grow in knowledge and admit mistakes is one thing , to lie is another . P;ease refer to nmy post above about the Early Church Fathers . The G.B must know that their doctrine is unsound when they have to twist the words of these venerated men to back up wrong teaching . They , the GB , state themselves that we should take notice of the early bishops and leaders , like Iraneus . So how can you be doing wrong if you look for yourself at their worka which are readily available on line ? Janet Hine
