My husband is a baptized Witness, and I have been associated with Jehovah's Witnesses for about 38 years. The Witnesses and their beliefs have influenced my son as well.
Recently my son has started to attend the meeting at the Kingdom Hall in North Port, FL. One of the Elders who is also his cousin yesterday told him that he should attend English congregation instead of the Spanish congregation. My son's native tongue is English, speaks Spanish and understands about 60% of to be fluent. He was attending the Spanish congregation because his cousin is there. His cousin accused that my son is coming to the hall because of improving his Spanish skill, which is not true. He needs spiritual encouragement and he has been reading the bible often. When he attended the Spanish meetings, he had both English & Spanish magazines to have deep understandings of teachings. We abserved his cousin has not extended his kind direction with his knowledge even though he was asked for bible study, or just for visit. So does it mean Spanish speaking people should not be welcomed to English congregations?
It was a disappointment for us. I'd like to hear your opinions.
