This is my parent's house in 1963. It was a place to sleep. Three nights a week were devoted to Watch Tower Society sponsored meetings with fundraising and recruiting activities. Saturday mornings were Watchtower and Awake! tabloid distribution in exchange for cash. In summer, all day Sunday was "service" and the Sunday meetings were held in the evening.

Our home place reeked of neglect. The Kingdom Hall, on the other hand, was manicured and all scheduled meetings were supported.
