My answer from JWD thread . . . Writer's son is a Witness.
Question: But don't you think I should DO SOMETHING to help him see the deception of the WTS?
No! He sees it and is self denying he's seeing it. Keeping rapport is doing something. All Witnesses I know become angry when I tell them what they already know and are denying. |

Some days the only exercise I get is jumping to conclusions and running from myself. I have a free weight set, a treadmill, and a stationary bike at home for exercise inside during the winter months, as well as membership in a fitness club with countless exercise machines and free weights available for exercise. |

When I walked away from the Watchtower in 1974-75, I walked away as a personal failure. I had just seen the prophesy of 1975 being set up to be swept under the rug. I had just witnessed the total denial of the 1975 teaching by a Watchtower district servant at the spring Sioux Falls circuit assembly. |

My brother and I in April of 1963 in our meeting get ups. My action of rebellion was buckling my belt on the side. I'm on the left. I was 18. We were standing in front of my BIG rebellion.
That's a 1948 Harley Hardtail 74 cubic inch Pan Head. I parked it a half block from the Hall and rolled my leather jacket into the side bag. I'm sure the neighbors loved me cranking that up at 10:00 PM after the meetings.
Not much was said to me about the bike. Lots more was said when I bought a black 1959 Cadillac when I was 21 in 1965.

This is my parent's house in 1963. It was a place to sleep. Three nights a week were devoted to Watch Tower Society sponsored meetings with fundraising and recruiting activities. Saturday mornings were Watchtower and Awake! tabloid distribution in exchange for cash. In summer, all day Sunday was "service" and the Sunday meetings were held in the evening.

Our home place reeked of neglect. The Kingdom Hall, on the other hand, was manicured and all scheduled meetings were supported.
