Among the things I’ll be exploring in this blog are articles I find that interest me. Here’s a link to one from a Jan. 4, 2009 NY Times article on minister Tom Riner of the Kentucky state legislature:
www.nytimes.com/2009/01/04/us/04louisville.html?_r=1&th&emc=th Riner is a Democrat (!!), but still wants Homeland Security to have a plaque thanking God for his protection (though it seems God was a bit lax on September 11, 2001, as was, to be fair, Allah, Buddah, Yahweh, several million Hindu Gods and probably a few other worshipped deities). Oh, and of course he wants the 10 Commandments posted in as many public buildings as possible. I admire Riner’s work with addicts and the homeless, and his tolerance in that setting. I just think that God and the 10 Commandments are best kept there, in his church, and not in our state offices. RFS Hits: 644 Trackback(0)
