Happy New Year! Randy
Happy New Year from undaunted Danny Haszard Bangor Maine http://www.dannyhaszard.com made my exit 14 years ago this month from the abusive Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Rockland Massachusetts--Cheers everyone
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! May 2006 be full of love, family, friendship, tolerance, understanding and peace for all of us. RR, Henry, Danny, Randy, Shell I hope you are all well and that you all had a great festive season......chat soon.....Kat
Kat, Henry, Randy, RR, Danny, and everyone else including those of you who don't believe in celebrating it - Happy New year Joy, Love and peace to all. Shell xx
Hi, Cathy, I'm glad you checked back in with everyone here at Free Minds and that this site was such a Godsend for you! I really appreciate this site, also and check in regularly to see what is going on. I hope you had a wonderful, magical Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope 2006 is a very good, happy year for you!
I am 27 and was raised JW. I ran away from home when I was 16 to escape the strict family religion, but it was not for better. I am torn between what doesn't make since in there beliefs, and having nowhere better to turn. Thanks for keeping me in limbo land freeminds.org.
TO 18:00:12 (January 4, 2006): I could be mistaken, but it seems like you're accusing Randy of having done you harm because of the fact that his is one of many Web sites which tell the truth about "the truth". The damage done to you was committed by the Borg, not by Randy [nor even by any of the other honest sites]. "This is one of the main reasons that so many Jehovah's Witnesses have committed suicide. They knew the phobias they were living with, and these phobias made no sense to them unless they were living the life of a JW, and if they left the JW organization they then had to face the fact that something was seriously wrong with them, and could not face the reality of these conditions." http://www.freeminds.org/psych/BPD.htm A great deal of information regarding Watchtower damage can be read at such places as http://www.freeminds.org/psych/psych.htm and http://www.freedomofmind.com and http://www.factnet.org/Thought_Reform_Exists.htm It is my hope that your healing will continue. Please know that you are not alone. --Henry H. Smith
Hi, Randy. Hope all are well. Happy New Year To All, Danny, Henry, RR, and many of you other brave Spiritual Warriors! I have tipped my hats to you, in applause! Question: Is it really safe to say "Happy New Year?" With all the brainwashing oncoming Great Tribulation and all so much other bad things PROMISED by the Borg that is destined to occur, what's taking their Armageddon so long? And about THEIR Great Tribulation.....How much worse can it get, finding out the harsh realities that THEY are the ones who do the persecuting? Just think of it, those of whom are not now having disease, family problems, famine, financial woes, homelessness, wars, etc., etc., are actually experiencing demon attack. Many are experiencing much of these calamities at once. So, wouldn't it be safe for THEM to say that, "We Are Already In Their Great Tribulation?" And.....as for that loving God of THEIRS who so lovingly fought so many wars in the past.....when will HE actually start fighting some of these wars, and get things RIGHT? HE had no problem before, neither did HE choose to procrastinate. I guess. And Jesus didn't hesitate to EXTERMINATE those DREADED demons. Why now? So, the real question is: "What is one to believe, concerning "Loyal Love...God Is Love..." Remember that song? Remember how HE (God) use to just tear Sh** Up! For the love of righteousness sake? Or was this never true? Just keepin' y'all Awake! about the Watchtower. They sure know how to Tear Sh** Up, causing one to lose their appetite from wanting to even HOLD a Bible again! Seriously! They have made it seem like God is against HIS own words! Or that HE has changed, in which HE says HE has not changed! Or was it THEM who SPEAKS freely for HIM? Constantly. Have a nice day, and a happier, healthier year than the last. sassy
This website is what I've been looking for. I left in 2000 and am still going through some mental anguish. I raised my children in "the truth" and I'm still going through terrible guilt feelings about robbing them of their entire childhood. How do I get over this? Even though they've reassured me that they don't blame me, I look back and feel sick to my stomach. Sometimes I hate myself. I'd really appreciate some advice. Warm regards, Debi
You're right! That last comment had no intention on addressing any of our concerns. We have serious problems here..... And for the poor soul who cries out, looking for a "Peace of Mind," concerning the creatures of the Borg.....take it from me...The only "Peace of Mind" I get (which does no good because I still have their demons) is the fact in my knowing I'm no longer baptized to demons. They officially put an end to that "Satanic Bond," when they so proudly DF'd me a couple years ago, 2 years now in fact! Unfortunately though.....Their demons remained! Tearing up, and throwing away all their literature, when discovering the "Truth About The Truth"(as they'd tell us to do to other objects) did nothing for my problem. HA! What a life! Ask me why I still have their Bible. Is it because of the LARGE print? Of course it is! Apologies for my lack of reassurance. Hopefully soon, my friend. Hopefully soon. Take care, and have a nice day. sassy
Hi, Sassy, I am sorry to learn that you are having such a hard time! Would it help, do you think, if you got some counseling to help you deal with being an ex-member of an abusive cult? It could help purge you of the conditioning you received as a JW. Get it out of your system. I know that's not an easy thing. Most of us here do. But, in order for you to have a full, happy life, counseling might help you work through things that are holding you back from fulfillment in life. Your head was so messed with when you were a JW! Maybe, too, it would help if you got yourself a new Bible, not tht NWT, which has been proven by Bible scholars not to be very accurate. Maybe you would like the New International Version, or you could check out a few other translations. But, the NWT is not the best Bible for you to have right now in your unhappy and confused state of mind. Believe me, it is not a very accurate Bible! Well, Sassy, I hope you keep coming back here and checking in and letting us know how you are doing! Hang in there, and take good care. Things can and will get better! Take care!
The Light There is a light you cannot see. A blinding light called clarity. And if you choose to close your eyes, there comes a voice "You will die." The light is might. It's never wrong. It's always right. It sings the same songs of triumph over all. With all the answers to life, united in a fictitious paradise. This life I lived in a blinding light. I turned it off to save my sight. Ruben Ortiz Copyright ©2006 Ruben Ortiz
JW's need to stop being spiritual snobs. I have found people in the new-age movement who think like this as well : 'I know more than you' or ' you are blinded' or' you are so ignorant'. Remember Jesus spent more time with the downtrodden, poor, hungry, prostitutes, and tax-collectors, and other sinners, but always rebuked the highly religious, (those who attend religious services regularly, those who look nice and clean on the outside, those who have so much 'knowledge', and those who look down on others.)
Hello to all, and to the kind voice who lends a listening ear. As for a Bible, I don't go near one. I've read in too many places where God had been there for the lowly and the meek. I look at the lowly and the meek (myself) and I see what I see. I think about a word in that "Good Book." The word is "Abundance." Where's the abundance? What does that word mean? Where did it come from? Abundance, meaning.....abundance of Peace or Hell? Abundance of Knowledge or Confusion? Abundance of a spiritality or of the flesh? Many were born poor, unfortunately, they died the same way. Where was there abundance? And where is their place of return suppose to be? Jesus ressurected Lazarus? What was that suppose to signify for us? I been baptized to those demons at 14, now 43. I haven't a clue what that "Good Book" is talking about. I had to gather on my own, from the things God showed me, that "Abundance" doesn't come to all in the same manner! On the other hand, The Borg, in all their demonized books (with the blasphemous pictures)convinces that OUR abundance is the spiritual food and the gathering of the harvest. HELL, STEPHEN KING said it better! When he put the Borg in one of his movies! Can anyone guess????? ANYONE OF 'EM!JUST PICK ONE! Because that never really meant anything to me! WHO CARED ABOUT THE HARVEST! And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feel this way. Hell, I had many other questions that weren't being answered! And all my sucked-in mother could say was "Don't question God....." Hell, we would've been better off following Jim Jones! At least we would've gotten something to drink. Sex wouldn't have been a bad thing either! Yes, I've been advised to seek help. And I agreed to seek help one day, just to ask a professional, "Where does he go? Who does she turn to when they have frequent visits by OUR ADVERSARIES? And when their thoughts are twisted by what they may or may not read in the Bible and then they turn around to see the things they see around them?" Maybe one day, my path will be straight. That'll be the day God does this Himself. The Borg was responsible for making my path straight. But this IS the best they could. And they turn you aloose as if they really done you some good, as if you have been let loose to suffer your own self destruction. JUST KNOWING you'd return to them. And IT'S right! Those "Creatures" of The "Borg's Enterprise" are right! They know that they've fixed you real good and you do suffer self destruction. Financially,Mentally, and Spiritually. Only thing...you don't realize it 'til you jump ship! Right now, I walk this earth as a drifter, letting God read my innocent and confused heart. I no longer battle with my demons, calling out a name that probably makes them laugh! I let them come and I let them go. No more putting up Scriptures with God's name that "Brother Russell" found somewhere in that Pyramid. I simply expect whatever there is to expect, knowing somehow, there won't be any harm. Perhaps, God knew I needed to really see that they exist in order to convince me HE does likewise. I thank Him for that much, because if it wasn't for Him, The Borg would have me doubt even that much. He did undo what they did. Now, I have to "accept," which is the hardest part. 33 years into the woods, would take 33 years out.....WHAT A DISGRACE THEY ARE!!!!! Thanks again. Have a nice day. sassy
The poem by R. Ortiz is beautiful! Thanks. As for being a snob.....I am what I am. It is THEM who had "CAUSED ME TO BE" ANGRY AND SASSY!
There are so many other links pertaining to other religions. Though I was rarely tempted to visit, and perhaps leave a comment or two, perhaps to condemn or even criticize. What stopped me? What was it that told me to sit back and say nothing? It was none other than the natural sensibility that I have that told me....."IF YOU SAY NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, YOU MAKE GREAT FOOLS OF YOURSELVES." Also, it was the fact that I wasn't interested. I had nothing in common with them. My war was not with them, so I let them be. Unfortunately, not everyone have that natural sensibility to discern that they have nothing in common with us "Snobs." And to let us be. What's worse is that the innocent; the non- ill intended, somehow gets sucked in and follow suit. Apologies for my last comment. Like the Borg, my last "Snobbish" comment should've been ignored. Perhaps they're here because.....like us "snobs," they do belong. Welcome!
Okay.....I got it now. It's the money. The money. You know, maybe I'm a little ill because I actually gave them money. Of free will. Repeatedly! Those Creatures! They suckered us Big Time! Not only did they retained Vast Knowledge, (I'm flattering them now) but they've GAINED MY DOLLARS! All I need is a refund, and I'll be fine! Let's take 'em down! Starting with my 25 cents -LOL- up to.....the Bigger Bucks! I'm in! Anyone?
I agree that much of what the WTBTS is about is money and how to get it. I count my vast blessings in being out of this greedy cult. Their controlling ways are no longer a part of my life. When I disassociated myself I took back power and authority over myself and my own life. I could breathe again! Sassy, it takes time to purge the toxins the religion leaves behind. Because it takes time, it takes patience. Turn your heart and mind in other directions, positive directions. I am so glad that you come to Free Minds! Please keep coming back! Whenever you vent here, you are actually purging yourself. Keep it up. And get to know yourself! Your true inner being. And learn to enjoy your inner being, the true essence of yourself. I think you might find some of the answers you are seeking right inside yourself, because that's where you truly dwell, not in some cult or in any other religion. Nurture yourself. Keep venting here at Free Minds. Writing is a good way to release the toxins, the poisons left behind from this cult. Please keep coming back, and know that you are deeply cared about here!
----- Original Message ----- From: Pinoy Autida To: randy@freeminds.org Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 11:56 PM Subject: Bible Students in Manila, Philippines Dear brother in Christ, Christian greetings! I would like to use this opportunity, in case you will allow me, in inviting all ex-JW Filipino People to attend our meetings on Sundays. We here in Manila have a small group of Bible Students, patterned after the teachings of the DAWN Bible Students Association. The DAWN are not fanatics with regards to the original (older) teachings of Pastor Russell. We give weight to the later teachings of brother Russell immediately before his death. The DAWN is similar to the Protestant Christians, compared to JWs and older Bible Students groups. Why not try to attend. If interested, just email me at: pinoyautida@yahoo.com Your brother in Christ, Pinoy Autida, member.
Thank you Pinoy, please do not post multiple advertisements.
Now, let us pray (meaning, Let us dissect these statements). "I have met some whitnesses" (meaning witnesses a.k.a. witches). "I think they are the most down to earth people you will ever meet" (meaning when they have left the Enterprise temperarily to meet at the halls TO SHUN SOMEONE). "In my opinion if you could save somebody would you not save them?" (meaning by preaching the Good News, which in reality is "Doom of Destruction to All Mankind"). "99% of religion is false religion" (leaving the 1% of religion that must be true is.....let's see.....THE WITCHES, right?. "Jesus only had one now we have many" (False! Jesus WAS AND IS THE WORD!). "This world is made up of billions of people with their own opinion, if only it could be half as many cuz some get proved wrong, and some are only half right but like I said the whole world is one big opinion if you catch my drift....." (We got the drift. The words: "Half Truths, and Opinion clearly explains your position with The Witches!).
well i just started a lesson . i invited some member to have some lesson with me i find it very instreted but i am having a very hard problem i use to work for a elder in the kimdom hall for a very long time and my heart is so upset for i was fired for someting i did notno about and i cannot get over it i love my job very much please tell me what to do i love JEHOVA very much.421-1467

To MoonGlade: please.....before you become too enmeshed in your studies with the Jehovah's Witnesses, do a lot of reading here on this site and on Silentlambs.org. It is sooooo easy in the beginning to get 'hooked' into the JW religion. Please educate yourself thoroughly about this religion before letting yourself be taken in. Love bombing is one way that people are pulled in. Also, in the beginning they can seem so very logical. It's as if they have an answer for EVERYTHING! Actually, what seems like logic in the beginning turns out to be skewed, twisted. So, please, before you get too far in your studies with the Jehovah's Witnesses, truly, truly "investigate ALL things". That is what the Witnesses will tell you, until you want to read anything that has not been published by the WTBTS itself. Then they will want to put a halt to your checking out things. Do you want to be involved in a religious group that tells you what you can read and what you can't? Do you want to be under the control of a religious group? I hope not, because a religion that attempts to control its congregants is in actuality a cult. It is very difficult to withdraw from cults without being damaged in one way or another, maybe even for life. If you have family members or friends in a cult and you leave this cult you may lose your relationships with people you love and care about very much. If you want to continue to study with the JWs learn ALL you can about this religion and about its history. DON'T let them tell what you can read or not, learn or not. You have every RIGHT to your autonomy, your independence. And, please, remember how the elder at your job treated you and how you got fired over something you didn't do. Be wary, careful, cautious. Please.
Dear Moonglade what a wonderful thing it is to love Jehovah very much. I love Him too. However, the Jehovah that the Jehovah's Witnesses are trying to teach you is not the same Jehovah that a real bible teachs. The real Jehovah is a loving God who tells us that giving your life to Him means freedom(Luke 4:18, 2Cor3:17). Never will you find it written in a real bible that Jehovah demands burdensome studying with other Christians out of publications written exlusively by a certain religious group(The JWs). Nor is it written in the bible how many hours you must put into witnessing to others in order to qualify for His favor and eternal life. You see we do not have to knock on anyone's door to witness the truth to others. If we are a REAL Christian we must let our Light Shine at all times! And we should be telling people about our Lord Jesus at every opportunity (work, school, grocery store, neighbors). Not at set hours on Saturday morning or during special seasons of the year with 60 hour witnessing for the month. And most of all, when we do share the Good News with others we must make sure that we are accurate in what we tell and teach them. You see, I was born and raised as a JW. I knew nothing else, but the JW life. After being lied to for 37 years, I finally found out that I have been taught tremendous lies for all of those years. Sad to say it is not just me, but millions around the world have found this out also. For instance, I was told that all other religions, except Jehovah's Witnesses do not have Jehovah's approval and that they will be destroyed at Armageddon. I have never been so close to God before in my life until I left the JW's. I actually get answers and responses to my prayers. I was also told that other religions and churches do not say or even mention God's name (Jehovah). What a big FAT, deceptive lie. My church says that Name quite often. As I am typing this response to you I am listening to a Gospel singer named Marvin Sapp. The particular song that he is singing is saying "Glory to the Lamb", "The Great I AM", "The Lord Jehovah reigns, rules on high", "there is no other Name that I could call that strengthens me". This is a Gospel singer/pastor saying these words. I say all of this to help you to see, that the biggest mistake that you could ever make in your life is to get involved with these people. My family and I have been there. Now thank God, it is in the past! The joy, peace and healing that has come into our lives and household is indescribable. Don't get me wrong, we still have problems, there aren't any perfect people in my house. But the difference between then and now is no comparison. There is something that I do have to add. Most of the people involved with the JW's have no clue what they are really involved in. They really think that what they believe in is the truth. So do not be angry with them. They mean well. Please pray to the real Jehovah and ask Him if this is something that you should get involved in. I guarantee you that He will tell you NO! One more thing, please go to your local bookstore and purchase a real bible, such as a NIV, LB, KJV ESV, or Amplified version of the bible and compare it with the New World Translation and you will see a whole lot of changes, contridictions and discrepancies in the New World Translation. They re-wrote it to fit their doctrine. Sorry for babbling!
im not a jw and i could see this site is full of crap idiots every religion thinks their the truth so wouldnt you have a site for everyone go back to community college and leave the thinking to to the smart people.
To Feb 9 14:40 Forget community college! It seems to me that YOU need to go back to first grade to learn how to spell and grasp grammar as well as phonics. And when you are done with that, just maybe some college will accept you. Once you get there you will see that one of their (the college/university)main objectives , is to teach their students that there are different views, opinions and understandings in this world. Then on the other hand, there are many facts that can be proven. So, grow-up and get over yourself! Better yet, since you cannot accept that there are all kinds of views, opinions as well as facts stated on this site regarding the Jehovah's Witnesses, just stay off of this site! Can't you read? The name of this site is "FREEMINDS","WATCHERS OF THE WATCHTOWER WORLD"! It seems to me that you are the big idiot!
This site simply tells it like it is for people who have left or are wishing they could leave. The average person on the street can not imagine how much the Watchtower ruins the family circle and erodes a members self worth. Thanks to this site I now know I dont need to fear men anymore. Kenneth Cheatham
Dear Randy,
I have just finished watching your "Ocean View" video clip and I find myself sobbing. I came upon the freeminds sight quite by accident a couple of months ago. Though I faded from the organization over 25 years ago and thought I had done a pretty admirable job of building a good, decent, and happy life, I suddenly find myself shedding tears for that young woman that I was all those years ago and the young men and women who are still experiencing the self-loathing, the crippling fears, the paranoia and neuroses associated with being a Witness.
I was raised in the truth by my mother. My father did not become a Witness until I was 15 years old. I have 3 sisters. Two of them are married to pretty powerful Witness elders (we can't deny that such a thing exists) and one of them is df'd and has been for a few years. Because I merely faded, I am on speaking terms with all of them. In fact, my mother is staying with me at this time. My father passed away a few years ago.
There is so much I want, need to write. Since coming on this sight I have become obsessed with it and know that setting these words down can't help but be cathartic. I hope you will bear with me.
My sisters and I were raised to be good Witness girls and all that that entails. I pioneered and was actually a "goody two-shoes" until my later teenage years when I was disfellowshipped twice. I can remember however, when my doubts about the organization started. In sixth grade we were studying how a means to control society was through censorship, by dictating what one could or could not read. A light went off in my head when I thought about how the Society was constantly reminding us that we should only read the publications and shun all other reading. I was and am a voracious reader. I made that connection then and kind of tucked it in a corner of my mind. Little did I know how much that one statement would come to serve me.
Most of the time, I was like so many, I naively believed that everything the Society boasted about was true. If I harbored doubts it was my problem not theirs. After my first df'ing I worked hard to be reinstated. Initially, though, I went off the deep end (that's what we called it at our Hall, when a goody two-shoes got df'd and then went out and did things most worldly people don't even consider because there is no such thing as a decent non or ex Witness.) My second df'ing coincided with my marriage to a "worldly" man and a move 1000 miles from the state I'd been born and raised in. This time my reinstatement was much different. It was a very calculated decision on my part. I wanted to be reinstated to be able to have a relationship with my family. In the meantime, however, I had tasted freedom and there was no going back.
At the time, I had no deep arguments with the theology. I didn't give it much thought. Here's what I thought about, I thought about how much I loved the world. How much I loved the beauty, the deeply flawed and paradoxically perfect human beings that walked on the same ground. I saw merit in the struggles and joy in the triumphs of people. I could never reconcile that God would hate his Creation and ask us to hate it. I wondered how it was that my dear friend who lived down the road and was the kindest, most compassionate person I'd ever known and had NO religion was going to be destroyed and that I by sole virtue of being a Witness had a better chance of living eternally in Paradise. I thought about how surprised I was when college-educated people came into the truth. How could they possible buy into believing that we will never die and by pass natural law?
Around this time, I found Barbara Grizzutti Harrison's book, Visions of Glory. This book completely turned my life around. Though she was much older than me and her time at Bethel was before my time, I still clung to every word she wrote. She defined and articulated feelings that I felt I alone had. This was a painful and bittersweet time for me. I was beginning to find myself and it was both exhilarating and terrifying. My marriage suffered because my then husband had married me because he was looking for a subservient and obedient wife. He felt that marrying a Witness would guarantee that. As I came more into my own and the inner quit matching the outer I suffered a nervous breakdown and was hospitalized for six weeks in 1988.
Even before this happened I had begun living my life "as if" I was a good and decent person loved by God regardless of my flaws and imperfection. In the beginning, more than anything, I wanted to prove this to my parents who were good, humble people completely entrenched in the Organization and its ways. To give you an idea of what kind of people they were, though very strict as far as discipline went, they never complied with the whole shunning thing with my sister and me. I always knew that when push came to shove they would be there for us. My other sisters however, are "obedient" to their "heads" even though I know it kills them. Also, I must add that what my parents did was not without repercussions. My father was asked to step down as Ministerial Servant and suffered other humiliations that, of course, were never spoken about.
When I recovered from my breakdown, I divorced my husband and took my two sons and went back to my parents' home. I didn't last with them when I found that as a 32-year old mother of 2 boys I had to sneak out to see anyone. I made my way back North and from that point on, l leapt, I ran, I embraced with the joy of a child that big beautiful world out there.
To say that I've led an amazing life by the grace of God would be an understatement. When I read letters from people who are thinking of leaving or have just left, I want so much to tell them that life, while it is difficult and heart wrenching in the beginning, gets so much better with time. The discoveries of all that has been withheld, the aspects of yourself that you were never allowed to develop, the REAL meaning of unconditional love. It's worth sticking around for.
I could not have gotten to this place without the help and counsel of my Jungian analyst. (I learned from her that E. Edinger, an associate of Carl Jung and an ex-JW called Jehovah's Witnesses and the Organization "institutionalized psychosis.) She has been instrumental in helping me "suffer" my experiences correctly and not be overcome by bitterness or cynicism. I have developed a very personal and mainly private theology. I am a lay minister in a Unitarian Universalist fellowship and take part in Native American ceremonies. I'm a part of a large extended family who have taken me in because they love me and I love them. I believe in community and am a part of a large, rich one that has given me more than I ever thought possible. I believe in being compassionate and kind because they have value in and of themselves without having to be that way "in the name of God."
That being said, I believe in God. More poignantly, I believe in Jesus, his Son. I regret the lost time when all the emphasis was on the insecure, paranoid God of the Old Testament and I barely knew who Jesus was. I enjoy learning about Him and still love Scriptural dissertation. (Spong's book "Sins of Scripture" is my current favorite.)
My sons are grown now and on their own path. My biggest regret in raising them is that in reaction to the overly strict way I was raised, I was way too permissive and unbalanced in that way. They have suffered for that. Still they are loving sons and have much going for them. I am married to a wonderful man. Our marriage is one of the most egalitarian ones I know. The biggest surprise and the biggest gift came late in the game. We have a beautiful 20-month old daughter. She is our love, our joy, our hope. I cannot begin to tell you what it means to know that she is being raised in love for who she is and not what she does. That our love for her really is unconditional and that we will not expose her to the venomous fear of an "organization" that claims to be of God and yet delights in its cruel and rigid world view.
Randy, I am more than grateful for this amazing site. It felt good to cry while listening to the song and seeing the beauty of the ocean in your video clip. I cried sad tears for the girl that was and happy tears for the woman I am.
Sincerely and with much affection,
RN
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You don't know how this has changed my life. After being away from the Organization for 25 years, I was never really free. Your information has set me free! I have cried with relief for 2 days now. This website was recommended to me on the day of my Dad's JW funeral where, of course, I was treated like trash. It couldn't have come at a more opportune time. Let the healing begin! Thank you, Jesus, for leading me to this site. Annette E.
Dear Annette E., I am so happy that you finally feel set free. Isn't this a great site? Randy Watters here and Bill Bowen of Silentlambs have helped so many, many people. I am sure, too, that all the crying you did for two days released a lot of toxins left in your system from the Jw cult. I am so sorry about the way you were treated at your father's funeral. There is no excuse for treating people so badly at a time like that. Again, I am glad you feel free now!
LOVE YOUR SITE THANK YOU CHRIS
How can I get your materials printed out from your places??? contact me via mes_sl@yahoo.com Blessings
Randy: Thanks for all your hard work as you unveil the "truth". Per your request, here's my poem. Love, peace and happiness... Omar.
GEHENNA
Situated in the valley of Hinnom!
I will descend to your abyss
hieratic gehenna
to evaporate mi blood
the liquids of my body
to scold my dermis
to calcine my organs
to incinerate my tissues
to toast them with your sulfur
my body will lay there
among embers and skeletons
the perpetual flames will laugh
dancing like ballerinas
along the fire of martyrs.
The most ardent abominations
will be: When the celestial hope burns,
during the last exhale of ones soul,
and the sparkle of resurrection disappears.
In your valley: "Hinnom"!
The gehenna ardently blazes
the place of eternal destruction
where I will be accompanied
by the "unfaithful, perjurious
blasphemous", we the ones that deserted
that did not accept deceit
the ones that didn't want to be cut
under the nefarious sharpness of dogmas
those that avoided drowning
in the putrefied waters of their indecision.
Among lyres, sitars and harps
and all sonorous instruments
we will sing hymns, anthems
chants of peace, while ardent
ballerinas will burn us with their fire,
thousand and thousand of droplets
will fall from the sky to calm
our thirst to pacify our faith
giving us alleviation, consolation and hope.
Our dust and its particles,
the scoria, yes, our clinkers
will be dispersed with the winds
among its dancing breezes
to be born, to energize gilded grains
to feed the flowers, the trees,
the weeds, and we will turn green
in the divinity of the meadows
yes, yes in the beauty of the vegetation
that's how we will return between
the infinite recycling of the everlasting nature....

Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, Happy easter, and happy forth of july! It feels good to be able to say that for a change after about a period of 40 years. :) Awesome web site, Randy! Keep up the great work!
Hi I have read a lot of stuff about this subject. Sometimes I feel ex JW's are probably still rooted in the religion some quite obviuosly are fixated by their old beliefs. Quoting scripture is a habit not easily shaken off. I admit that there is little to recommend a person or a group of persons that claim to be speaking for God. However this is an age old heresy. Many have done it and this will continue. Maybe mankind is so childish that we think the Creator cannot speak for himself. Thankyou for your web site, but it has that sameness that makes one weary. May I suggest that you try to be different and inject some life and enthusiasm for the new things you have learned instead of always looking back on the old. Best regards Alex (Hopefully your brother in Christ)
TO Alex (March 3, 2006): Being a Witness, you very obviously have not "read a lot of stuff about this subject." You Witnesses always give yourselves away; in this case, for example, you disparage all Web sites which tell the truth about "the truth". Like the others before you, you also make it very clear that you have not read anything on these sites other than the Guest Books. This "sameness" that makes you so "weary" comes from the fact that the Watchtower cult is dangerously toxic and has caused--and continues to cause--a hugh number of people a vast amount of harm. Not only do you look solely at Guest Books, you also make it clear that you don't even bother to read everything in the Guest Books! Otherwise, for example, you would have known better than to suggest that we "try to be different and inject some life and enthusiasm for the new things [we] have learned"; we constantly do so, in articles, books, and Guest Books. Instead of reading only "stuff" about the Watchtower cult [John 8:44], do actual reading and research on the subjects. (John 8:32) --Henry H. Smith
if you are not an ex jw dont waste your time reading this site. if you are it is very interesting. i was dfd 8 years ago, it has beeen a blessing and a curse., though i certainly would never go back it has been a long, and continues to be, though less so with time , a struggle. mine is a long story which i wont bore anyone with but i would recommend read, read, and read. make up for all that lost time and educate yourselves on other religions, get a wider perspective and be open minded. personally i still dont know what i believe in anymore but i am more inclined to paganism than god. im not bitter just a bit sad.
I am glad to see I have found people whom think the same as I.
free minds? and yet you hypocritically say you will delete some comments. you guys are pathetic. you are so obsessed with destroying the name of jehovahs witnessess. through the bible they offer solutions and answers to lifes problems. but you offer nothing. if you dont want to believe it thats up to you but to dedicate your time to this is quite the opposite of free minds. slander and twisting of facts is dumb
I was a J.W. for twenty years, was disturbed mainly by the extreme legalism of the w.t. org.Conducted two years of extensive research which included reading both of Ray Franz books, also read Apocalypse Delayed,The Gentile Times Reconsidered,Sign of The Last Days,Four Presidents of The Watchtower and read most of everything on the Free Minds Web-Site. Dissassociated myself from local congregation in April 2004. Respectfully Yours Brad Mathews.
This is the place for freed minds. Minds that no longer are oppressed, repressed, and suppressed, all of which leads to seriously depressed. It isn't a slanderous website. It just tells the real truth. It really tells things like they are. This site is not trying to hurt Jehovah's Witnesses, but rather to help them, to help them truly think, to use their own minds, to see the real truth about the so-called 'truth' of the Jehovah's Witnesses. It isn't twisting anything for its own self-serving purposes. This site is not about twisting things and lying. It's about integrity and sharing facts with people. It's about opening up people's eyes and being here for them to help them. This site is for you, not against you. Yes, it is against the WTBTS. But, not you. Not against any of the rank and file who are actually victims of a cult. This site uses reason to try and help people. It doesn't use manipulation to take control and power over people. That's what the WTBTS does. Please thoroughly check out this site to find the facts. The real facts. You won't get them from the WTBTS. It's just a greedy, manipulative big publishing company that uses people is what it is. Check it out. Please.
TO 02:07:01 (March 13, 2006): Well, here we go, yet again: To what SPECIFIC lies are referring? Where SPECIFICALLY can this false information be found? Like the others before you, you will either not respond at all, or you will respond with nonsense having nothing whatsoever to do with my questions. --Henry H. Smith
The way the W.T. Org tries to get around their many false prophecies (1799,1874,1881,1914,1925,1975 and many others) is to infer it was only an opinion. However if only an opinion or mistake, people that wouldn't accept or disagreed wouldn't be chastised, insulted, character assasinated, and since the 1950's excommunicated. Having an opinion about the Last Days is okay as long as these opinions don't dogmatically attempt to control people. Peter Gregerson stated that the chances of the W.T. Org. being selected by Christ as his sole channel on Earth since 1918 is one million to one. Continue to keep up with the interesting and informative dialogue Randy and others. Yours Truly, Brad Mathews.
I read your excellent article " Spiritual Food at the proper time". Do you have in spanish? Vincent Camelio cicor2002@yahoo.com
Your web site has been a great help to me for several years. I return frequently for gentle reminders and support. I appreciate your continued help. Margaret Kellar
I know that everything on this site are lies. It's all malice & slander. You might want to get your information correct before you try to knock us. I know that you realize that what you are doing is wrong and you are part of this wicked world, thjis wicked system of things, and you know what the bible says about that--1John 5:19.
What this site is doing is not malice and slander. This site is about revealing the mistruths people in the Jehovah's Witnesses religion are taught. It is about revealing the facts behind those mistruths. Please do some research of your own before jumping to conclusions about this site. It is not full of lies. It is not trying to attack JWs. The WTBTS is trying hard to keep its adherents from learning certain things about it and about what happens behind the curtains. It covers things up, so that the 'rank and file' and the public won't know what is really going on. Please believe me, for your own sake and for others in your religion. Nobody here wants to hurt any of you; it just wants to expose the WTBTS for what it really is, for what it is really doing. If anyone is doing any harm it is the WTBTS. I can't make you believe this, but I can try my darndest to let you know that Randall Watters and the people who come to this site care about you and your family and friends in the Jehovah's Witnesses religion. Please give this some thought, and do some research of your own.

Hello all. I got kicked out of "the Joho's" after being born into it for the first nineteen years of my life, for doing the usual teenage things, kissing girls, swearing etc (such a naughty boy!!) It just wasn't for me. Both parents are still very much still in - Dad's an elder. After dabbling in Christianity, Scientology, recreational drugs and Music creation - I have had some pretty amazing "spiritual" experiences since being set free. I am immensely amused to read some of the very bitter and aggressive posts from those apparently still in the Joho's. Hehe! What are they doing here?? Much mirth! Anyhoo, keep up the good work. The internet wasn't a big thing when I first came out-so I didn't have the bonus of information and support like the great stuff on this site. I consider myself VERY lucky to have only been affected ...um... "mentally", and not having suffered the sexual and physical abuse of many others whilst under the "protection" of this ridiculous cult bollocks - which claims to be "the truth" - you gotta laugh! Although this is a pro "Born again Christian" site, (I got nothing against MOST Christians - or anything else come to that-even JW's-I'm not bitter anymore) I hope you will allow me to recommend some alternatives to those fed up with all things religious altogether. Those wishing to stand on their own feet may find great solace and massive hilarity in the fantastic words of the late, great Bill Hicks. He's a genius! Good books - Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz – The Celestine Prophecies by James Redfield – Anything by David Icke if you want to blow your mind – Anything by Terry Pratchett if you want to laugh your guts out. Please visit http://www.alascom.co.uk/ to hear a small selection of music, some of which is written by ex Joho’s. Also - http://www.alascom.co.uk/blackbuddhaband.htm Nice 1! With Humility and Respect, Jovian (email@jovian.me.uk)
To the individual who made the adverse comment on March 31st at 09:40:22 quoting I John.5:19. The fact is that many of us that submit comments on this site did some extensive research on the W.T. Org. Our experience and knowledge is from both sides of the controversy. Some of us were fully committed J.W.'s and didn't take leaving the fold lightly, but were fully convinced that the W.T. couldn't possibly been chosen by Jesus Christ as his sole channel representing him here on Earth. The information mostly responsible for opening my eyes was derived from Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom, books written by former Governing Body member Raymond Franz. Only wish I hadn't waited twenty years before making my extensive investigation of the W.T. Org. The Scripture that really got me thinking was the one from Deuteronomy chapter 18, " When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and word does not occur, you must not get frightened at him, do not follow after him". Respectfully Yours, Brad Mathews.
I have read what yo hink of Jehovah,s Witnesses. One thing I cant get over though is that you say nothing about God, what is the truth, how he should be worshiped. At least offer the people that. Why should they leave if you are not offering any truthful alternative
Hi, I would like to let all of you know about another good website for victims of sexual abuse. It is joyfulheartfoundation.org. It was started by Mariska Hargitay, who is one of the stars of Law and Order SVU. I hope that all of you check out her site. Take care.
TO THE PERSON WHO COMMENTED ON MARCH 31st regarding 1John 5:19. Please convince me and everyone who visits this site that the corporation that you are a member of (The Jehovah's Witness Corporation), IS NOT a part of the devil's system or organization. Please state the facts about your corporation that sets them apart from any other entity in this world. What is it about your involvement with this corporation that DOES NOT MAKE THEM A PART OF THIS "SATANIC WORLD"? Your comment was a blanket (or general) statement. Please prove to us that we should be a part of your corporation. Come with the facts! The facts speaks volumes.
free minds? slightly hypocritical to add a disclaimer of "long preachy or nasty comments will be deleted"? wont that simply fuel your onesided viewpoint opposed to the free mind you profess? Obviously you have a strong hatred for these witnesses, however do you not understand that a great refining process was undergone, slowly eliminating the false teachings of the world, a process that is still going on? yes everyone has there flaws, and the literature produced provides reasoning as to what the bible means, as proved by non witness scholors also. I asume you have studied with them, and turned your back and what seems like pointless time discrediting them! unprofessional to say the least and down right insultive!
TO ALL THOSE THAT COME HERE TO DEFEND THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESS CULT AND THEIR LEADERS: The bottom line is: the Jehovah's witness cult leaders are a bunch of liars. They are masterminds at deception, manipulation and coercing. The only people that DO NOT know this, are their followers (the rank and file). Most of their rules and regulations are nothing but man-made garbage (and twisted scripture) that a few "clever" men have come up with and agreed upon to keep their "zombies" in "check". In other words they take a vote in a board room to see if a rule or regulation will go into effect. You people(the rank and file) find out what the vote is at the Watchtower study. You know what they call this. You know, "NEW LIGHT". Of course they would have the general population think that they are concerned with solving mankind's problems. Of course they will do a little research on problems that plague ALL of the human population, i.e., death, health problems social problems, marriage problems, etc. And of course they will put their "half of cent" (their twisted solution) to these problems. By the way, their answer for EVERYTHING is "just wait on Jehovah"!!! (As if God is NOT A "RIGHT-NOW" GOD) They want you to think that they are concerned with you and your personal problems. This is how they bait you in when that person comes knocking at your door! After they bait you in then they introduce you to their little "family" (cult). Then after you've been around for a while and everybody puts on their best behavior (all an act) of "Christian Love", then you get hooked. They forget to tell you that if you decide to leave them that they no longer will show that "Christain Love". This means that their love is CONDITIONAL. By the way, the real Jehovah loves UNCONDITIONAL. God is very well aware that we are all sinners. And he does not expect us to live flawless (perfect) lives. WE CANNOT! Just thank Adam and Eve for that. In reality, as long as we are humans and live on this earth, everyone will always have problems and trouble. There is NO organization, club, corporation, government or even a church, pastor or preacher that could solve any of mankind's problems. ONLY GOD CAN and HE DOES EVERYDAY IN EACH INDIVIDUAL LIFE. GOD DOES NOT DEAL EXCLUSIVELY WITH ANY ORGANIZATION! All you have to do is pray to God and ask HIM to help you with your problems and HE will answer you. No organization could do that! STOP LOOKING TO AN ORGANIZATION FOR HELP! LOOK EXCLUSIVELY TO GOD!
Great site - lots of good information - haven't had time to read it all yet! I was raised JW and drifted away for many reasons. I would really like to find other exJW's near me to email with or even meet up with if I find any in my town. Sometimes I feel so lonely and frustrated with the way I was raised (only being allowed to associate w/ other JW's) that I still have a hard time making friends now that I'm free. My email is trwitez@hotmail.com I'd love to share stories with anyone.
It is so true. The WTBTS hooks people in to their religion (cult) by making them believe that they can only have a relationship with God through the WTBTS. This is a fallacy. People don't need an organization to make them close to God (our Heavenly Father). Everyone stands alone before God with Jesus - - and only Jesus - - as mediator. Also, Jesus Christ is more or loss slighted by the WTBTS society and therefore by the Jehovah's Witnesses religion. He is not given enough credit, not enough recognition. He is our SAVIOR, the savior of all mankind! And it is through JESUS, it is through HIM that we approach God, not through the WTBTS. To me, it is heathen, sacriligious to teach that people need this organization - - ANY organization - - in order to have a relationship with God. It is just plain presumptuous! Any organization that makes people think that their ORGANIZATION is necessary in order to have a relationship with God, our Heavenly Father, is just plain pulling the wool over people's eyes. The organizaion is conning people, taking advantage of them, of their vulnerability, their naivete, of their sincerely wanting to do the right thing in the eyes of God. Please don't be fooled by the WTBTS or any other organization that tries power tripping manipulation of people in order to get them to "tow the line". You don't need to tow the line for any religious organization. It's just a big sham, not to mention a very probable big scam. Jesus said his yoke is light. The WTBTS places a very heavy onus on the rank and file in more ways than one. Jesus said he sets people FREE! Everywhere you turn in the Jehovah's Witnesses religion you are up against a wall, thanks to the burden of rules, regulations, and restrictions place on JWs by the WTBTS. That's a light yoke? That's freedom? That's not living. That's like existing in a box with the lid put down. No thanks.
Excellent website. I am the Executor of the Estate of Joseph Reed of Delta British Columbia, a long-time thorn in the side of the Watch Tower after he was formally excommunicated. Mr. Reed is twice mentioned in the Criminal Code of Canada for his activity confronting the JWs. He died on Feb 28 2006 of a heart attack. Toward the end of his life, Joe Reed was gathering proof that the JW congregations were knowingly operating illegally, in contravention of the laws to do with non-profit/ charitable status. The complete body of his work is available for those seriously interested. Gordon Watson < justice_critic@shaw.ca > Executor & Trustee of the Estate of Joseph Reed
Hi, Randy! Hope everything's going well with you and yours. Thank you for the opportunity to come chat with all my fellow "Breathers" or "Breathens" (a word brother Russell found in that "Pyramid" along with the name "Jehovah." The word "breathen" supposedly meaning....."brothers.") And a special greeting to my fellow brothers (ex-witches of Jehovah). I posed serious issues not long ago, to the onlookers, the real "Haters" of the world..... Jehovah's Witches, Warlocks of Brother Russell. So, I've returned to repeat the questions for single simple answers if you do know what you think you know. Welcome to OUR own Enterprise. And may you enjoy OUR ride: 1) Where is your Great Tribulation? 2) Are we not experiencing it now, or do you need more "Bad Luck" to know? (Oops! I mean "Misfortune," the better word, since the term "Bad Luck" was originated from another one of Russell's Gods. The "Bad Luck God." Right? Misfortune sounds better?) I wouldn't want to mess around and get disfellowshipped AGAIN. Please don't let that happen! I would really just "HATE" that! THREE!) When will Armageddon come? 4) And will we go to heaven, since we are "In union with our Lord?" And since HE did not specify which "WE" (by names)that HE was referring to. 5) And why did Jesus resurrect Lazarus on earth and actually left him there while he ascended up above? 6) Wasn't Lazarus "in union" too? 7) Do you really know these answers? 8) Did you ever find out what name we would be given during that time, or are you all still waiting to hear the voices of the angels? I know some of you still "rub the crystal ball" just like your founder and his followers. This is how "F" Up your Enterprise has left me. Now, please...have your answers ready and fix me back! IF YOU CAN. Again, Welcome...And a special "hello" to all the Captain Demon Elders. The stench of you Maggots (raping your young...Subliminally...BODY, mind and soul, and actually getting away with it) makes my unwanted Waste smell so sweet! You are truly the "Disgusting THING!" "All Aborg!" Have a nice day! Sincerely, Sister Sassy
Can anyone of the Witches figure out this riddle: Why did the Borg name themselves WBTS, and what does the abbreviations REALLY stand for? You'll never guess. I'll give you a hint, two words...Brother Russell. TICK TOCK! TICK TOCK...
In harmony with 08 April 2006 (11:08:07), TO ALL THOSE "Witches" (my own word) THAT COME HERE TO DEFEND THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESS CULT AND THEIR LEADERS...The day you are actually blessed starts now with this table of contents prepared just for you! Jehovah's Witnesses--"Who Are They, REALLY? Where'd They Come From?" They didn't Advent from Russell. He once taught the Trinity. They didn't sprout from Rutherford, all his teachings and views were OBJECTIVE to Russell's. Besides, his brand was Jack Daniels. MOST OF THEM'LL DRINK WHATEVER COMES TO MIND! "THAT'S UNSCRIPTUAL! CEASE THEM!" Right JD? Heyhey...So, really.....WHO THE H*** ARE THEY? THESE APOSTATES? And yet, WHO'S TEACHINGS ARE THEY TEACHING NOW? ANYBODY KNOW????? Answer: They're a new breed of Witches! "Thus Saith Jehovah's Witnesses." To me, the word "Saith" resembles the words: "Saints" or "Saved," doesn't it? In either case...THEY ARE NOT! AND THEY KNOW IT, because our work is done. "Unluckily," they have been quite "Unfortunate" because, THEIRS IS NOT! And I'm sure some elder would track me down and disfellowship me AGAIN "for the love of God" for using either term of their OWN "Misfortune." But I'm pleased in knowing Randy has the definition of the term "Saith" totally masterminded! Just keepin' y'all Awake! about the Watchtower! Heyheyhey...You know who, the sister of THIS enterprise, sister sassy
Hey Danny! Your work is awesome! Thanks for the info entitled: "Man protests Jehovah's Witness Teachings." http://www.lowellsun.com concerning the memorial evening kingdom hall BLAST! Good stuff! Keep up the good work! sassy
In harmony with 08 April 2006, "TO ALL THOSE THAT COME HERE TO DEFEND THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESS CULT AND THEIR LEADERS," According to your subliminally demonized material dated December 8, 2004, you have been instructed to "Beware Of Internet Chat Rooms!" Why have you not taken heed to your authorities? Are you not very well deserving a good beating! Or worse--Disfellowshipping! For you know...YOU MUST NOT BE A PART OF THIS WORLD! Run along now. You're losing time. Time in the field. The gathering of the harvest! For what it's worth. That's time you CAN count. You know you can't count this time! Go to the harvest now, where you will find your abundance. The abundance of :)Anyone know????? :) HA! HA! HA! I didn't think so...Just remember one thing...WE ARE ALL APOSTATES! Run along now or you can continue your journey into our capsule. Welcome. "All Aborg!"
Hi, Sassy, wow you have done a lot of research! I admire you for that. You have thought through carefully many, many things about the WT religion. I know what a toll that cult took on you, so please take good, excellent care, and hang in there. Don't let the hurt and pain this controlling, manipulative religion caused you take over your life. You are out of there now! This cult has no power over you. Please nurture yourself, and take joy and pleasure in the little things. So often, it is the little things that make life so rewarding and pleasurable. I know how difficult it is to let go of what this cult did to you and others, but you can sure help other people by making them aware of how this religion pulls the wool over people's eyes, how good they are at doing this with all their bluff and bluster. That's all it is; it is bluff and bluster. It doesn't have to affect people. People don't have to take it so seriously. I wish that people would think for themselves, particularly about things like the blood issue. To me, blood is life. It is sacred. Therefore, I believe in blood transfusions. Taking a blood transfusion is not eating, injesting blood. That is such a goofy way of thinking. It really is. With a blood transfusion a person doesn't swallow the blood, which then goes down the esophagus into the stomach, then the intestines and so on. It is not the same thing. Keep up the research, Sassy, and your venting, but please don't let it take you over and prevent you from enjoying all the beauty there is in life. And, remember, you are FREE now, FREE!
TO APRIL 5, 2006 8:38 - Please start out by praying to God. He really does direct your every step. You see, what we've been trying to tell people that visit this site is: Worshipping God is an individual thing. You DO NOT need any organization, club or cult to worship God. (Even though it is a lot more fun and exciting to worship in church)! And by the way, worship also includes our everyday behavior. You also DO NOT need any approval from humans to say what is right and what is wrong. GOD has the LAST SAY! All of life's answers, right and wrong are found in the bible. In other words you will have a whole host of varying opinions on matters involving LIFE. However, I am not saying that we do not need direction and fellowship. That's what church if for. As a matter of fact the bible does tell us that we should come together to fellowship with one another and encourage one another. Also the leadership (pastors, elders and deacons) in the church are put in place, by God (NOT BY MEN WHO SIT IN A BOARD ROOM AND VOTE WHO SHOULD BE THE NEXT LEADER) to teach us and shepherd us. God DID NOT appoint an Organization to do this! He divinely directed individual men and women, who qualify, to do this. Also, keep in mind that these individual men and women are NOT always correct in everything that they teach! That's why we have to have individual, open communication with GOD! He will tell you who is lying and who is on the right track with biblical teaching. So please do not get discouraged. Please pray to God (and yes HIS name is Jehovah, but He is NOT THE TYPE OF JEHOVAH THAT THOSE JW'S PORTRAY HIM TO BE). The real Jehovah can not and will not be found in ANY KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ON THIS PLANET! I guarantee you that HE will answer you. GOD BLESS YOU!
Hello, I was just wondering what you who come here think about the 'The Book of Judas', which has been receiving media attention lately. There is an article about it on the 'National Geographic' site. Also, from what I have heard there is 'The Book of Thomas' and 'The Book of Mary Magdalene'. What do you make of 'The Gnostic Scriptures'? Do you believe these Bible books are authentic, or do you think they are hoaxes? It would be interesting and enlightening to find what people think about this, how they feel about it.
This site gets better all the time.Nothing like the facts to wise you up.
I like this site, too. It doesn't shirk from making the facts known. People need to know the truth about the "truth". Watchers of the Watchtower is a great site! I know I am grateful for it!
its funny that you would spend so much time on berating another religion. don't all people think their religion is the right one? Otherwise why pick one? Just have one for everyone. We have brains to choose what we believe or don't. Maybe you should do something more constructive with your time rather than obsessing over some religion that you obviously hate which makes you biased. You also talked about all the money they make take a look at the catholic church and their yearly income. Much of which is being paid to victims of pedophilia. I also noticed quit a few sales pitches and pay pal garbage on your site. Who is trying to get some money? I thought maybe you had something truely important to say. I know you won't post this, its just sad that you only respect your countries freedom of speech when it benefits you.
Hello, I am not the owner, moderator, or manager of this site in any way whatsoever, but from what I gather the money requested, in general, is to help support and keep this site going. The Catholic Church IS paying out a lot of its money to pedophilia victims, but the WTBTS seems (to me, anyway) to fight tooth and nail not to pay out anything to victims. The acknowledgement, recognition, and support of Catholic victims didn't come overnight, either. The higher ups in the heirarchy of the Catholic Church wanted to keep its image intact, just as the JW higher ups want to keep a pearly white image of the Jehovah's Witness religion. And, yes, there are other religions in which unspeakable things occur to children. However, the people who come here are predominantly JWs or former JWs. And they need support. And they need encouragement. And they need the friendship this site offers. There are many people who come here who need healing. Healing is another thing that doesn't happen overnight. Healing can take a long time, especially if there is any PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) involved. It's not anyone's 'fault' if they have PTSD, either. It's something that happened to them, because of something that occured in their lives, or in the lives of loved ones. Nobody HAS to come here to this site. It's a choice.
In response to the person commenting on April 5, 2006 at 08:38:20 regarding how to Worship if we don't agree with the W.T. approach. We should follow the teachings on the New Testament. I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the father except through me. Also their is one mediator between God and men, Jesus Christ. Peter told Jesus whom shall we go away to, you have sayings of everlasting life. Peter asked To Whom, not where. Love Yahweh your god with your whole heart, strength, soul, and mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire Law and the Prophets hangs on these two Laws. Aside from whats explicitly clear in Scripture on what to do and what not to ( ICor.6:9-11 and what violates your conscience) an Organization shouldn't make laws that supply grounds for expulsion. There are many Bible principles derived through Scriptural implication from the Old and New Testaments that should act as a guide that can benefit us individually that shouldn't lead to Organizational rules that result in expulsion. Especially when in the W.T. case these laws derived through implied Scriptural reasoning or worse yet when these laws are derived no clear Scriptural foundation. Also on these very unclear laws their is usually a Doctrinal change or total reverse on how these issues are viewed. Examples: Blood Transfusions, Immunizations,Who are the Superior Authorities mentioned at Romans 13, What a Husband and Wife can or cannot practice in the marital bedroom, Alternative Service to Military involvement during war, Voluntary Disassociation from the W.T. When I discovered that W.T. changed their stand different issues making a total reverse to a previous position, it encouraged me to realize the danger of Extreme Legalism. Another example is that in the W.T. Org. their is a severe problem with Alcohol consumption amongst its members that they tend to minimize, yet a practicer of Drunkedness will not inherit Gods Kingdom, on the other hand someone who smokes is expelled when theirs no explicitly clear Scripture that indicates one should be expelled. This doesn't minimize the dangers of smoking or that someone shouldn't individually consider refraining from such, but to making smoking and similiar issues Disfellowshipping offenses borders on the ridiculous when considering the Flip-Flop nature of the W.T. Org. If every J.W. would read Crisis of Conscience by former Governing body member Raymond Franz, its my opinion that at least fifty percent of J.W.'s would resign. Respectfully Yours, Brad Mathews.
I have seen several times recently commercials, in which Mormons are "advertising" their religion. Different Mormons say something about their relgion, and in this way they are reaching millions of people. I am surprised that the WTBTS hasn't taken up this tack, having commercials on television that reach the public without having to go door to door, not that the Mormons don't still go door to door. Of course, the Witnesses would still go door to door, also. It just seems kind of funny that they aren't taking up the medium of TV to reach people. I don't know if it would get them any further than they are going by distributing their magazines. Boy, oh, boy, am I glad I am not doing that anymore. It is such a blessing to be out of that cult.
TO Brad Matthews: Thank you for adding to my comments. You are 100% correct about the cult. The WBTS has sooo many made-up, twisted rules that I did not have the energy to list them. Thank you for stating the facts! And yes, I agree wholeheartedly that true Christians are to follow the New Testament. Love is the only rule to follow! Because Love is the "Law" that we are under.
To Brad Matthews, I don't know who you are, but I appreciate your comments. They are really well thought out and stated in a calm and very rational manner. They are very reasonable and kind. I agree love is the ultimate 'law'. Thanks for your comments.
ok u have no clue wat u are talking about jws r a kind loving pepole they are christains they dont belive in any sin so how can u say this ur just a non christain if there was a hell ud be in it
To: 21 April (10:14:23) "Maybe you should do something more constructive with your time...." We belong here. Question: Where do you belong? Answer: Dahhhhh.....HeyHey...Have a nice day!
To: 26 April 2006 (19:16:14)It's obvious those Creatures have taken all your money. Oh well, NO SCHOOL 4 UUUUU! HeyHey.....
In response to the comment made by an individual on April 26, 2006 at 19:16:14 regarding J.W.s' not believing in sin. Its' admirable that any group claiming to be Christian refrain from sinning. The Biblical reality is that " All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,(Rom.3:23). Also according to Romans 5:12, " Through one man sin entered into world and because of one man all have sinned." The greek word for sin is (Harmatia) which literally means " missing the mark" like someone who might miss the bullseye on an archery target. True at ICor.6:9-11 it mentions that practicers of certain sins would not inherit Gods' Kingdom. The key word is practicers or conduct that would be a way of life. True Christians might determine to not socially involve themselves with lets say as an example a practicing drunkard in order to avoid the influence on their lives as a bad example, however that wouldn't prevent you from giving loving exhortation, spiritual assistance and a simple hello. The person mentioned at ICor. chapter 5 that Paul mentions not to mix company with was an admonition to the congregation, not a Law that would lead to expulsion it a person chose to speak with. Unfortunately for me the many testimonies of unfair application of Dissfellowshipping procedures and the treatment of those who left Bethel in the Spring of 1980 and shortly thereafter leads me to believe that judgement should always err on the merciful end of matters, especially when all Christians including J.W.s' agree that God is the final determiner of an individuals eternal destiny. As stated by former Governing Body Member Raymond Franz in conversation with fellow body members in discussion, " Why do we try to play God, we do so poorly at it". This was in response to the Governing Body trying to make many enforceable rules without clear-cut Scriptural statements to back them up. Respecfully Yours, Brad Mathews.
The unnatural way JWs treat people who have been disfellowshiped or who have disassociated themselves is so hurtful and painful that it is beyond understanding how they can do that! To me it is unbelievable that friends and family members can turn on, turn against their loved ones as if they don't even exist. A JW told me that I don't believe in God, since I left the religion. When I told her, oh yes, I do, she told me that no, I don't. I dropped it right there, as I knew that no matter what I said she would try to trump me. This second guessing that they do with former JWs is so ignorant and judgemental. I most certainly do believe in God! I most certainly do believe that Jesus came and died for all mankind! I can speak for myself, thank you. I don't need any JWs attempting to read my mind. I know my mind just fine, thank you. And I love our Heavenly Father with all my heart and soul. I don't need to be a Jehovah's Witness to believe in and love and cherish God!
What is this with the Jehovah's Witness religion that baptism is considered a 'contract'? Contract!? That doesn't sound spiritual at all! Isn't baptism supposed to signify a person's acceptance of Jesus Christ as his savior and as his mediator? A contract? That definitely does have an organizational ring to it. Very business like, indeed. The WTBTS is really pulling a good one over people's eyes with this baptism thing. And to have to answer a bunch of questions before being qualified to being baptised? I thought baptism was a heart thing. At least it should be. In Jesus' day did people have to sit down with someone who gave them an intense questionaire before they could be considered ready for baptism? What a racket! What a sham! Shame on the WTBTS for the things they do to people! Shame on them for all the hurt and pain and confusion they cause the rank and file! It's just a big phony business pulling people's strings! Oh, ugh!

Hi my name is lorilynette and I just want to say hi and interesting reading.
I was just here, lorilynette, but i cant figure out how to get back to the home page.
Hi, Lorilynette, I just go up to the top and hit 'Back'. I'm glad you like this site. I do, too. It is so informative and eye-opening.
I studied for a year, discerned that accurate knowledge of the truth would never be found in a Kingdom Hall, and walked away. Just read your article about subliminal messages and WBTS art. I agree that they would never deliberately put anything Satanic into artwork, but consider this: In the publication "The Government That Will Bring Paradise", on pages 18 and 25, there are drawings depicting the "anointed remnant" and the "remnant." If you will consult your "Proclaimers" book for photos of the GB members over the years, you will see these are the most prominent faces drawn in the artwork.
Concerning: the Mealy-mouth JW elder lying in court! (NEW 2/27/06) It's so sad how how that situation ended up with Jim Johnson not being fined for contempt of court for living. To think I was a Witness for so long, thinking it's from God. Shane Draney
Hi, I happened upon your site and curiosity compelled me to stick around a little longer than I should have to read what you had to say against JW's, and now I just feel physically ill. I never knew there were so many people out there who really hated us so much. I have been raised in the truth and have been happily baptised for a long time. I have had friends at school who weren't witnesses and always knew that I was a proud JW. They never scorned me and I never felt ashamed to talk to them or have them over at my house, and my mother never discouraged me from associating with them. I have never participated in Christmas or Easter or celebrated my birthday, but I have never felt like I was missing out on anything. I appreciate that you feel you have wasted your time attending meetings or reading our literature, but what I don't understand is this apparent bone-deep hatred of all other JW's like me. I can only say that I hope you find happiness and contentment in your lives.
Hi, to the person who posted on 5-28-06. I just have to say that for myself I do not feel a "bone deep hatred" toward Jehovah's Witnesses. I have family in the JW religion, and I love them DEARLY! I don't feel hatred for my former friends in the JW religion, nor dislike, not even a mild dislike. They are PEOPLE, and I believe that people are people - - period. Everybody is loveable and worthwhile and valid. No matter what religion they are in. I am so sorry if you have run into any hateful posts here. Some people are very bitter and hurt, and they haven't worked through that yet. Many of these are people, human beings like you, who feel hated by and have been treated hatefully by Jehovah's Witnesses. It works both ways. A lot of the anger and bitterness is not aimed at the people who are Jehovah's Witnesses, themselves, but rather at the WTBTS, the governing body of the Witnesses that makes all the rules, regulations, and restrictions for the JWs. Jesus said his yoke is light and that the truth will set people free, but, really, Jehovah's Witnesses don't seem all that free. Freedom is being able to think and reason for oneself and then make one's own choices. The WTBTS makes so many of the choices for the JWs who have to tow the line when it comes to those choices. I am happy for you that you don't have a problem with the regulations made for you, that you are happy to go along with them. I feel as if I am rambling in circles here. However, when it comes to my own personal relationship with God, our Heavenly Father, that I need to make my own choices based on my conscience with Him - - not with an organization.
Talked very briefly to Ray Franz yesterday,,he turned 84 yrs old yesterday.
As I was reading about the 'Knocking' documentary and how the Jehovah's Witnesses have gone to court many times regarding freedom of speech and so on, I was struck by the irony of that. The WTBTS goes to court to protect certain rights, yet lords it over Jehovah's Witnesses. Something is wrong there. Very wrong. What about freedom of speech for the 'rank and file'? They aren't supposed to question anything. They're not to express doubts. Instead they are stifled and suppressed. Where's the fairness in that? Freedom of speech should be for everyone. If the WTBTS wants it for itself, so that it can teach whatever it wants, then the 'rank and file' should have the right to express whatever is on THEIR minds, how THEY feel, what THEY think. It works BOTH ways. Shunning is an example of stepping on people's rights, on THEIR freedom of speech. There is something SO wrong with this religion. The control it holds over people's heads is inexcusable. I admire the filmmaker of 'Knocking' for trying not to show bias or prejudice in his film, to just remain neutral out of fairness and let the movie speak for itself, but there are other things the public should know about than what is presented in the film. But, maybe this was not his purpose. He just wanted to get certain things across, which he did. At least his movie will bring the public's attention to the JW religion, and then maybe the public in general will take the religion more seriously and also the pedophile issue, the blood issue, and so on. We can hope.
Civil rights are for everyone. Not just the WTBTS, but for the rank and file, too. Their civil rights should be respected by the WTBTS. Their civil rights should be respected by the elders in judicial committees. The Jehovah's Witnesses religion is such a "Big brother is watching you" religion. It is such an autocratic religion at the "headquarters" level. It is nothing but a big pyramid corporation. It is a multi-million dollar book company, for Pete's sake! On an aside here, there is something I don't understand. In the back of the Kingdom Halls, magazines and books are sold. Well, isn't that kind of like turning a religion into a business? To me, that's what it seems like. It seems so disrespectful to God. It's just part of the money making huge business that the WTBTS is. There are some dire changes that need to be made in this religion, this book business. The rank and file need to be shown respect - - all the men, women, and children. Nobody should ever be a doormat in this religion. Nobody in this religion should ever be discounted, dismissed, or demeaned. Everyone in the rank and file should be able to hold their heads up high and feel like whole human beings with dignity and self-respect. They need to see themselves as valid and worthwhile - - and loveable persons. And they need to see each other this way, also, and treat each other this way accordingly.

To May 8, 2006. We don't hate you honey. Besides, I don't know who you are, so how can I hate you? On the contrary I love you! I don't have to know you to love you. You are a human being with thoughts, needs and feelings. That is why we post on this site. We are making people, like yourself aware of our bad experiences and tragedies with being a JW. It sounds like you either have been very lucky with your association with them (so-far) or you really do not have a clue about what really goes on. I was born and raised in it (the JW org.) too. I am now over 40 years old. I thought that it was the "truth" also. No one on this earth could tell me otherwise. That was because, that's (the JW religion) was all I knew. It was not until after being in it (I mean very deeply), for over 30 years that I became a victim of it's "ugly-ness". You see, there are a whole lot of ungodly and disgusting things (to say the least) that goes on behind the scenes, that you really do not have a clue about. If you are aware (or have a clue) of the ugly things, then...(well I don't know - I don't want to insult you). You see, some of the people that post here have also been deep on the inside,so they know what they are talking about. The bible says, that if you know about something that will harm another, you are obligated to inform them. The same principles that the WBTS teach you you know, the one that forces you to go out in the field ministry (Ezekiel 3:18-21), is the same scripture that is being used here, except it is being used properly on this forum as well as other sites. The WBTS thinks that the scripture in Ezekiel, exclusively belongs to them. Warning must be given out to those who are being led down the wrong path. The WBTS is a very destructive and poisionous organization. Those involved with the JW's must be warned. The bible also says that we are to hate what is bad. The WTBS is the organization that is hated, for they are BAD! We DO NOT hate the blinded people! There is absolutely nothing associated with GOD (the real Jehovah) that is evil. Most of the rules made-up by the WBTS were NEVER, I mean NEVER mandated by God (the real Jehovah). The WBTS is an organization - please look up the meaning of an organization. - Peace
I remember sitting in the cry room at the kingdom hall when supposedly one of the Anointed walked in with his battered child all black and blue and crying.I asked him "how did he(the child)get those two black eyes?"His reply was "spare the rod, spoil the child?".He was a real idiot! So,I called the top elder at home that evening and told him how upsetting it was to see such an abuse. His stupid reply was"Gods taking care of it,not to worry. Two months later the child was sent to hospital with a broken arm, broken ribs.Needless to say the elders still did nothing and said nothing but gave a speech at kingdom hall about "Not judging People"!That's when I come to the conclusion......They are all idiots!Stay away from this religion. It is Toxic dumping grounds for a bunch of creeps who are child molesters,rapists,ex-cons,and a world of crazy people who believe they are among the elite of l44,000 who will rule the heavens with God.
I remember seeing children mistreated when I was a JW, too. It was appalling! It was years ago, and yet the memories are still just as appalling! Unbelievable how children were often treated! On Silentlambs some time ago I remember reading about elders instructing the rank and file to spank with 39 slaps. Could someone please explain that horrific teaching?!
If anyone knows what was behind the 39 slaps to be administered in spankings that was recommended in some congregations, please, please enlighten us! Talk about cruel and unusual punishment!!! Yet a few people who posted on Silentlambs said it was true! I am sure there was no reason for these people to lie, and I don't believe that they were lying. Where did this teaching come from and WHY?! It is senseless!
You're website is excellent for anybody who would like to have a Freeminds during the Crisis of Consciece and In Search of Christian Freedom from the WTBTS.
I think that the more open and forthcoming, andhttp://www.freeminds.org/guest.htm honest, and sincere people are here on the Guest Log that people who are checking in here and reading the posts the more likely and definitely they will understand what goes on behind the scenes of the JW religion. Please, people, go ahead and be totally truthful about anything you know of that was and/or is wrong or unethical happening in this religion. The facts should and need to come out!
HI RANDY, THIS IS CHRIS IN AUBURN MAINE. I ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR SITE. I AM WANTING TO START A SUPPORT GROUP HERE IN MAINE, SO IF YOU OR ANY OF YOUR VIEWERS KNOW ANYONE IN THE MAINE AREA THAT WOULD LIKE TO CONNECT WITH OTHER EX JW'S PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS freedominchrist4621@zoomshare.com
I just have to vent a little here, tossing in my two cents worth about what this religion does to families. My dad is quite elderly and is the father of four. Our mother died quite a while ago. Dad has never been a JW (I left the religion about twenty years ago), and neither was mom. Right now the only JW in the family is my sister. I can't tell you how helpless I feel standing on the sidelines and seeing how it hurts him that he cannot have a normal family relationship with his daughter and family. Occasionally, once in a great while, she stops by to see him, but these visits are few and far between. It hurts to see his hurt. This religion does things that are inexcusable. My sister is so caught up in it hook, line, and sinker. I don't blame her, though. I blame the religion for its hold on her and countless others. Again, I just feel so helpless, and I had to get this out. Thanks.
Anyone have theories about the JWs being involved and/or under control of a secret global society that controls govts and such? Illuminati would be the group im talking about. Also any JWS or Ex JWS find the last Star Wars film from last year a little spooky when the Emperor uses the Dark Side lie of "Eternal Life" and "Saving those you love" to seduce Anakin to the dark side?? It seems the JWS are under the control of a Sith Lord or something to that nature...lol!! EM of CNY.

I am continually appalled by the things this so-called religion gets away with. It is so sad the way this religion or whatever it is manipulates people's minds into believing so many loony, goofy things. The 'rank and file' are victims of a master scam. What is so amazing is that people do not have to be under the control of the WTBTS. It is all a sham. A blustering, bluffing, blowhard, not to mention arrogant and pompous sham. The WTBTS really has no authority or power over the "rank and file". The abuse it allows of women and children is absolutely inexcusable and shocking. Women who are mistreated by their husbands and then blamed by the elders and told to go home and be better wives are the victims also of an abusive religion (or whatever it is). The children who are made to feel that it is their fault if they are molested (or even raped!) by pedophiles are victims not only of the pedophiles but of the "religion", and these children are scarred for life. And to think that the pedophiles are treated with more respect and dignity than the children! The children's vulnerability is taken advantage of, and their innocence is murdered, not only by the pedophiles but by the religion. I have no respect for any institution that is more concerned about keeping a pearly white image than it is about the people under its SO-CALLED authority. Another thing about this religion (or whatever it is) that is disgusting is the way young children are expected to sit still through the meetings - - the boring, tedious, monotonous meetings that probably make these little kids comotose. There is nothing wrong with Sunday School classes geared toward specific age groups. The children would still be at the Kingdom Hall, still learning the things their parents are being taught, but in classes aimed at their age levels. There is nothing wrong with that. It is just another form of abuse the way so many children are taken to the bathrooms to have their little behinds whacked into submission, so that they will sit like obedient little robots during the mind numbing meetings. Children deserve better than this. Women deserve better than being told its their fault when their husbands abuse them. How I wish and pray that people could see how they have been duped by the WTBTS through this "religion". And they HAVE been duped. There is much more that these people have been misled about. So much more. It would take pages and pages to cover everything. Suffice it to say that the "rank and file" have really had the wool pulled over their eyes, no question.
It's so true. The authority, control, power, whatever you want to call it that the WTBTS wields over people isn't REAL! It is phony, fake, baloney, blarney, not to be believed or taken seriously. People should just blow it off. No religion should attempt such control over people, should pretend that it has the right to that authority. And it IS PRETENDING! Can't people see that?! That a group of men at Bethel, at the WTBTS COULD NOT POSSIBLY have such power over other human beings?! I feel like banging my head against the wall trying to get through to people who have fallen for this scam! It is a scam! Can't people see that?! Shake your heads, and see if it will wake you up! "Smell the coffee". Aaaaagh! There is no way an organization led by a small group of men can have such control. They have achieved this "control" through manipulation and intimidation. Please, please, please people, you loyal "rank and file" (can you even imagine Jesus thinking of and referring to human beings as RANK AND FILE?! Oh, brother!), wake up. Slap yourselves on your faces if you have to. Just wake up. You do NOT need to see yourselves as under the authority of this little Bethel Band of men. You do NOT need to see yourselves as being under the authority of an organization. It is NOT an organization that is the mediator between God and people. It IS JESUS who is the mediator, JESUS, and only Jesus. Period. Exclamation point! Please! Do yourselves a favor and THINK!
Another thing: Anyone who thinks that because he/she is a baptized Jehovah's Witness they are stuck with being a JW no matter what, and if they are afraid to make any attempt to leave the religion, question anything or express any doubt about anything because they fear the consequences at the hands of the organization, well, please bear this in mind - - baptism is not about an organization, it is about Jesus Christ and becoming His follower and trying to walk in his footsteps. It ISN'T about becoming the follower of an organization, a member of an ORGANIZATION. It is about JESUS, NOT the organization. It just ain't so. And all those questions people are expected to answer before they can be baptized? It's just part of the manipulation game the WTBTS plays with people. People shouldn't have to answer a slew of questions in order to be "eligible" to be baptized. Baptism isn't about head knowledge - - it's about the heart, it's about a person's spiritual self. People didn't have to answer miles of questions in Jesus' day. This religion plays head games with people. Don't let it play with, mess with, your mind. It's YOUR mind. Don't let the WTBTS try to commandeer it. And it will if you give it half a chance. Don't give it that chance. Okay? Please? They don't have the right to run people, human beings, and they have their NERVE to make that attempt, an attempt that is all too often at the cost of many, many persons in one way or another. It is abusive of this organization to pull this power trip on people. Don't let it do to you.
I have been thinking about the Stockholm Syndrome and contrasting it to the JW religion. With the Stockholm Syndrome the victims often start to feel an attachment of some sort to their abusers. I am struck by what seems to me to be a similarity to the JW religion and how Jehovah's Witnesses are more or less captives of this religion. The religion - - or the WTBTS is the 'captor', and once people are in this religion, if they find themselves not wanting to be a part of it anymore, they feel trapped. Trapped by the manipulation and 'threats' of what might happen to them if they make any waves. To avoid the consequence if they do "rock the boat", they just keep on acting loyal to the religion. Their 'faithfulness' saves them from any of these consequences. Here is a site that describes what happens to people when they have the syndrome and how they behave: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome#Capture_bonding - - please check it out.

To whom this may concern, I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 27 yrs. I raised my 3 children as Witnesses also. I have been disfellowshipped for 6yrs. now and for the past 2yrs. have been attending the meetings and trying to get reinstated. I have just started to examine the teachings and practices, that I never really dug into. To my horror I cannot believe my eyes. I can't sleep at night and have been having panic attacks. I need help in this. I just can no longer put up with the lies, but question myself for thinking this way and fear Jehovah's judgement and death in the end. please contact me lulufp75@verizon.net
To lulufp75@verizon.net: You sound very depressed. Please keep doing research and learning all you can about how this religion works. God isnn't going to condemn you for doing that. You sound like a seeker. That's good. Don't let the JW religion discourage you and fool you. You are doing the right thing by learning all you can about this tricky religion and its manipulativeness. Many of the people who come here have felt your despair when they started learning the truth about the "truth". Please keep coming to this site and be encouraged and get the support you need in your painful journey to discover what is right. The WTBTS has literally blinded people to what is the real TRUTH. God is a God love and mercy. He cares about you. The WTBTS would have you believing you are serving God through them. In TRUTH you are serving the WTBTS. Please don't let them fool you. If you really look carefully at this 'religion', you will see how bizarre it actually is. Please keep coming back here, and thoroughly explore this website. You will learn so very much. It will be a very eye-opening, enlightening experience for you.
Excellent site. A great source of info. Keep up the good work. Steve Trozzi, xjw Canada/Philippines
Greetings to you and your guests
My girlfriend has been disfellowshipped from her family nearly 20 years now, it is a constant pain for her as those family members that reamin in this hurtful cult continue to use her elderly parents as pawns and have little regard for all the help she provides them. How can I better help and understand her?
Good Afternoon to everyone who visits this web-site. As a reminder to those who have left the J.W. Org. and to those still officially in the fold, I exhort you to read the following publications, Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom by former governing body member Raymond Franz. Also add to that Apocalypse Delayed by James Penton. These Publications present the reader with well documented facts to substantiate all the information contained within. Whenever an opinion is stated, the Author presents it as such. The material is presented in a respectfull dignified manner. The most difficult part would be to get a practicing Jehovahs Witnesses to at least consider the information, an almost impossible task at best. An interesting point that Ray Franz brings out towards the end of In Search of Christian Freedom is that many individuals are attracted to the J.W. religion by default due to their dissatisfaction with their previous religious affiliation. He also stated that if their wasn't anything good at all about the J.W. religion, different ones wouldn't have spent ten, twenty or more years before leaving. My reasons center around the extreme legalism and the many false prophecies. For me a Bible teaching has to be clearly stated before anyone can expect me to believe it as a rule or Doctrine. This is probably why I still don't believe in the Trinity or Hell-fire. If the Trinity were a clear bible teaching, their wouldn't be any need for its' subsequent development and clarification followng the first century. Their is no question in my mind that Jesus has Deity and shares the same nature with his Father(John.1:1,18), but what that Deity means is the ultimate question. The New Testament clearly indicates that we are to be Witnesses of Jesus and are to direct our attention primarily towards Gods'Son. Its' not my intention to go any deeper with this subject of the Father/Son relationship today, but I would gladly welcome respectful responses. Sincerely yours, Brad Mathews.
Your website is fantastic. It offers so much support, help and comfort to people who leave the Watchtower Organization and feel vulnerable, afraid and alone. Long may your website reign...!!! The world must know and be informed of what REALLY goes on behind the Watchtower Society's closed doors... They are hypocrites and will have Jehovah God and Jesus Christ to deal with one day for dragging their names through the mud in the name of a 'godly' religion. They are not a godly religion, they are a snare and a racket to quote one of the presidents words. I am a 40 year old ex-Jehovah's Witness from the UK and I left that deceiving, lying, controlling, man-made oppressive organization after 22 miserable years. I have never been happier in my life over the past 2 weeks since I've left. I can start enjoying life again and continue to worship Jehovah God and Jesus Christ properly, on my own. Take care everyone, have a great day. See you in Heaven one day. :-) Angela UK
As always, this site offers much good information. Keep up the good work.
There are people - - Jehovah's Witnesses, and even some people who are not JWs, who say that JWs are the nicest, most decent people there are. However, I have not found that to be the case. There are many, many kind, good, and caring people who are Jehovah's Witnesses, but this applies also to many, many people who are not JWs. Most people with whom I have had contact with in my life are truly decent people. Non JWs are called "worldly" by the JW religion, signifying that they're not so nice, and if they don't become Jehovah's Witnesses and submit to the JW religion, they will probably die most deserving deaths at Armaggeddon. What a cold and harsh, inexcusable way to percieve fellow human beings, who are just as valid people, worthwhile persons as Jehovah's Witnesses. All people - - ALL people are beautiful and worthy of God's love and the love of their fellow mankind, including Jehovah's Witnesses. That is not to say that there are no people who commit egregious sins, but, even JWs are susceptible to sin. JWs are only human, too. And it is hardly a perfect 'religion'. Look at the pedophile issue, the United Nations mysterious membership, how the "rank and file" are often treated if they don't stay in lock step, etc. The rigidity of this 'religion', its legalism and all the rules, laws, and regulations are totally out of line with true Christianity. For myself, I want to follow Jesus Christ, not the WTBTS. I don't want to be stuck, trapped in the box that the WTBTS puts people in. Again, most of the people I have ever known are good, kind, caring people, JWs or not.
The WT causes us to change the way we view ourselves. I was baptised at 13 and disfellowshiped at 24. I am 59 now. My whole family are JW's,including my wife. Fortunately she stopped attending of her own free will 5 yrs ago. I would like to try to encourage those who feel so lost and hopeless, who have left or want to leave. First of all you must look at yourself in a different light. I had panic attacks for 25 years. An overwhelming feeling of horror would come over me and even though it might be a beautiful day, I wanted nothing more than to crawl in a hole and die. When I came to understand that the Watchtower is not all it has claimed to be the fears started to go away slowly. That took me about 5 years. I dont hate them, I just understand them. I chose not to believe as I once did, I have valid reasons that agree with my conscience and I am content with my decision. I have to live with ME, my life requires order, not blind unfounded ideas and the disturbing passions associated with them.. things the WT teaches. I still hurt not having my extended family but I am a better person, I am calm. I feel for those who are still subjecting themselves to the Chicken Little "Sky is Falling" mentality. If you hold religion dear, believe in God,not man. If not then believe in yourself and your right to undominated thoughts and pursuits. You are probably a regular person, not a thing wrong with you except your view of things.
To the person who mentioned the JW 'The Sky Is Falling' mentality. I think you are right on there. I am happy for your contentment in life now, and I appreciate your thoughtful and gentle post. I hope it hits home with many people who come here and that it helps them.
This web site is awsome! This is the Crises of Conscience of the web. Thank you for all the information provided!!!!! Some say knowledge ius power.....but in our case..... knowledge is freedom! Thank you Randy! Ruben
Hate sites provide (for me at any rate) at least 70% of the entertainment on the internet. My favorite at the moment is stormfront.org. There's a few others, which tickle me, but you guys made it into the top ten. Great hate site guys, hillarious stuff. Keep up the good work. kevinankinson@gmail.com
Oh; and according to all my available sources, this Franz chap seemd to appeal against the 'disfellowshipping' of himself and his friends at every stage of the proceeding. Weird huh? Almost like he didn't want to leave.
Dear Kevin, I am sorry you see this as a hate site, because this site isn't about hate, but about helping and supporting people who have been deceived and hooked into a religion that uses manipulation to make their 'rank and file' feel controlled and under the power of the WTBTS. This site is a caring and encouraging site for the people who come here. The people who generally come here are receiving much needed friendship and acceptance. When I left the religion, I finally got a deep breath of wonderful fresh air. You are most certainly entitled to your own opinions and feelings, but please don't try to bring down the people who come here. We are not about hate here. If you enjoy 'hate sites' and find them entertaining, maybe you should start one of your own and have a blast. But, please be kind to those who come here for support and encouragement.
I remember how afraid I was, hands shaking!I had my copy of Crisis of Conscience! I drove out in the country and parked, like a criminal I needed to hide. I started reading about how the governing body discussed and ruled on important subjects that would appear in the Watchtower. It didnt fit what I imagined took place as Jehovahs Words were delivered to the Faithful and Discreet Slave in Brooklyn. It appeared these men were doing what the board of directors of any corporation were doing. Mulling over the pros and cons of doing this or that. Struggling to decide on the meaning of a long unused hebrew or greek word...one which scholars today and for centuries before have had trouble understanding. What I am driving at and what amazed me was that there seems to be more than one logical, biblical, historical interpretation to many issues discussed in the Bible. Some things are really not as clearly defined as the Watchtower has told me...Cant be...or could it? I wasn't so nervous when I drove home.
LOL: Not a hate site eh? Quote from a poster above: "They are all idiots!Stay away from this religion. It is Toxic dumping grounds for a bunch of creeps who are child molesters,rapists,ex-cons,and a world of crazy people" Ahem; I stand corrected. If your idea of supporting jilted kids who've been excommunicated from the church is to show them an archive of stories about child rape and a board full of navel gazing drop outs - I think a few high-school psychology classes might be in order. You might have noticed, if you've ever attended a real support group of any kind, that the format is slightly different. For example: women who attend a rape support group are unlikely to be asked to dwell on how horrible all rapists are. The unterly unconstructive support you provide here, serves only to foster infection around an already sore wound. From what I've seen, this is a place where people come to preach (If you'll pardon the pun) to a very shrill and self-absorbed choir, which could only serve to prevent from, not encourage people to move on with their lives.
I agree. Whoever said, "They are all idiots", etc. was making a blanket statement generalizing everyone into one lump. I don't think it's right to make statements like that, either. It's just venting, and it's venting out of ignorance, also. Saying things like "Always", "Never", "All", "Everyone", etc. are something to watch out for. Name calling is also something to watch out for. It's inappropriate, not to mention unkind and cruel. Statements like this ARE hateful. People need to think before they speak. Such comments as above are not only hateful, they are judgemental. I personally believe that former Jehovah's Witnesses should know better than to say such things. This should NOT be a hate site, but rather and educational and supportive site. For myself, I would like to apologize for any offensive comments made here that could and very probably do hurt and mislead people into thinking this is a hate site. People, please be careful what you say here so as not to give the wrong impression of what this site is really about. Please.
I don't want to troll the board too much. I generally prefer reading . I managed to acquire a copy of a Watchtower through a friend, which isn't very easy in the Hei Long Jiang province of China. I'm digging through it now to have a look for some evidence of the mind altering witchcraft, which so inspired another poster above. I'm sure that some of what you say about the religion is true. The question is, for someone who has left the religion, does it really matter? Proving the religion to be wrong and bad seems to be the predominant aspect of this website. For people who have been hurt by this religion I can't think of a worse idea, than to encourage them to constantly review and critisize their own past experiences. This site doesn't encourage people to confront their problems, it encourages them to wallow in them. There are some fantastically hateful posts made by people on this board. They are certainly entitled to those opinions, but don't come saying that leaving their rambling insults on a webpage for all to see is in any way akin to supporting people and helping them deal with their troubles. In addition if you believe in the Bible, surely the worst thing you can do with your time is to constantly examine and critisize the teachings and followers of another religion, which you believe to be false. As you say; I'm not being productive in terms of supporting the campaign on this website so I will discontinue my posting. I leave it at the discression of the administrator to remove my posts and continue the discussion via E-mail kevinankinson@gmail.com
The poster above submitted this --"surely the worst thing you can do with your time is to constantly examine and critisize the teachings and followers of another religion, which you believe to be false..." * * * * That sounds to me exactly like the Watchtower cult! Cheers,Danny Haszard Bangor Maine http://www.dannyhaszard.com
I am convinced that they are projecting terrifying apparitions through satelites, along with masons that congregate in halls, (masonic halls). the apparitions look like the ones from their "live forever book" (demons)... i like the site.
TO JULY 8 8:02 - Your suspicions are correct. The "founding father" (Charles T. Russell) of the Watchtower cult was a high ranking mason. Research proves that the way the cult functions, as well as what they call their place of worship, is extremely similar to the masonic "way" of doing things. For instance (masonic hall/kingdom hall). I believe that there are many high ranking cult leaders that are still heavily involved with the freemasons and the illuminati! I bet that if someone were to do some digging on these "high ranking" people, we would find out that all of them are connected with some form of freemasonry. I also believe that the illuminati is the real "organization behind the name!" - Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. They (the illuminati) also financially support their demonic cause! There ain't that many contribution boxes in the world!:) And there ain't that many people putting money in them either!
So I hear that tinfoil hats are back in this season!
Date: 09 Jul 2006 Time: 22:44:54 Remote User: Comments So I hear that tinfoil hats are back in this season! - - - - -Danny Haszard say's:Don't you know it that a practicing devout active Jehovah's Witnesses Watchtower cult follower has posted the above "looney" comments to make this guest book readership look silly. This is how the Jehovah's Witnesses psychopaths work they are sadist and just like to trash & bash.
The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is not your everyday Sunday School for the kiddies and the 11a.m. sermon for the adults. It is an invasive life altering value system which is first presented as getting to know God and his will for us. Slowly every idea you had about god, religion and how you fit in is totally altered. A great part is based solely on the Watchtowers concepts, not the bible. Therein lies the problem. Anyone who has never been exposed to this type of organization cannot imagine to what extent people will alter their lives and values thinking they are pleasing god and doing his will. Actually they are following men and doing whatever these men tell them to do. Sounds unbelievable but its true. This organization, to put it mildly is very abusive to its members. Talk does help.
Thanks for stopping by my blog (www.headdibs.blogspot.com). I think you will be interested to know that a few years back I was granted in interview with a JW elder that was actually granted INSIDE the Kingdom Hall. Though I was not allowed to record or take notes, I produced a paper (I gave them a copy) on JW Hermeneutics. Since then, my most productive conversations have been with our Bible studies: they come and we don't discuss anything. I have them read outloud from the Gospel of John, starting in John 1 (even from their own version) until they've had enough. I don't have to preach or argue as they get to do with me what they cannot and do not do in the Kingdom Hall, which is read in context.
In response to the individual who posted this guest list on 7/2/06 at 02:18:34 regarding Ray Franz appealing his disfellowshipping in December of 1981. Firstly if you read the account from his book Crisis of Conscience about his judicial case, he indicates he's innocent of any Biblical sin that the Elders of the Judicial commitee are advocating against him. The Elders could not prove whatsoever that the person he ate a meal with (Peter Gregerson)was a bad associate as mentioned at ICor.5:10,11 and ICor.6:9-11. Furthermore they couldn't support the idea the Peter Gregerson was an Antichrist as portrayed at IJohn.2:15-17 and IIJohn.9. Raymond even asked the Elders on the Judicial Committee if they could classify Peter as a wicked person or an Antichrist and one of the Elders responded by saying it wasn't for him to judge Peter Gregerson. Ray Franz responded by saying how could they expect him to judge Peter when everything he knew about him was of good Christian Character. So you see, it was a matter of principle for Raymond Franz to appeal his case, especially since their wasn't anything Biblical the Elders could use to prove him an unrepentant sinner. Also he told the Elders that whatever the Bible instructs him to do, he would be happy to follow. After what happened at Bethel in the spring of 1980 and what subsequently followed therafter, a person would tend to believe that the real Apostates are still running Bethel and the genuine Christians are the ones who left or were removed. Respectfully yours, Brad Mathews.
How refreshing! I was brought up a JW, against my will, and it took nearly half my adult life to get over it. I'm so pleased that someone has stuck their neck out like you guys, there simply isnt enough of it out there! My folks are so hardened JW's that nothing gets through.....nothing. However, this site has at least made me smile. Thank you. :)
To Brad Mathews: Again, I want to let you know that I appreciate your comments! You really seem to know what you are talking about, and you make everything so clear. Thank you!
I woke up after ten years inside. I still am a baptized JW , and after a year and a half I now know the truth that everything I ever believed in was a lie. I am trapped as my 72 year old JW mom is very sick. I have tried to tell her but she just can't listen to me, or to the Bible. I don't trust the Bible now, but it was what completely freed me in the end. I held on for eight years, beating myself up daily because I was a lousy JW those last years. I felt like scum & I knew Jehovah was disgusted with me. The Bible became "Alive " to me when I was studying with JW's ( actually that scripture}. What was that all about? I have asked God many times since finding out. Was it a religious halucanation? Pencostals have them ,now I realize so do JW's! Or was it magic? who knows ,but it kept all my inner questions quite for eight years & it killed me spiritually > Has anyone ever seen the BIble become "Alive" while inside ?, or was it just me ? I was in a bad state of mind at the time.
I would like to see financial statements, stock holdings and any public records of the Watchtowers assets, corporate and real. Are these records available to the general public?
Hello there....it is some time since i wrote a message on here....today i just thought i'd pop by and see whats what.... I found this site most helpful....it helped to get rid of my hang ups about almost being sucked in to become a JW.....and thanfully i dind't.... I simply struggled in believing in God with out the WT doctrines lurking in the back ground.... I found my peace in the end....and found that the WT didn't have to dominate my mind..... this site with all it's info helped me to see through the WT's dominate ideology....and also Harry H...where ever you are....answering my questions.... thank you Free Minds.... Love and best wishes to all of you here.... DP....XXXXXX
Oh...sorry....i think i said Harry H....i did mean to say thank you to Henry H smith.... well....i am on night duty and a wee bit tired and passed myself.... take care all of yous.... DP...xx
To 16 of July, 2006 at 04:19:53, I feel for you and your situation! I wish you could get through to your 72 year old mother. I feel just sick for you! I am not sure what you mean when you say the Bible became 'Alive' for you. Could you please explain it a little further? Is it possible that in your emotional and spiritual pain that you became distraught enough to see something as alive? I am not being critical here, just trying to understand. So many of us who come here have at one time or another been at our wit's end due to the WTBTS's manipulative teachings. I am trying to understand what you mean by 'Alive'. Please keep coming here for support, encouragement, and friendship. And hang in there. Take care!
I really enjoy this site! I left the Witnesses when I was 17, (now 48),but my mother still belongs. I have given her all the info provided here, but at 75, she doesn't want to change, although she has softened a lot. This site is good because it lets you know you are not alone, or crazy about what you went through. Thanks- Cris Sabin
Hi, I would like to encourage people to check out the thread in Net Soup, 'I found my wife crying over THAT article!', and please read that article. I was told that not only had I turned my back on the religion, but on God. When I said that I had not turned my back on God, I was told that yes, I had. Well, I have never turned my back on God or his son Jesus Christ. I simply turned my back on an ORGANIZATION, and organization that is so manipulative and sly as to attempt to make it's 'rank and file' believe that people who leave the organization also are leaving God. I have not left God. I believe in and love God, and I believe his son Jesus Christ died for all mankind. I also believe it is slanderous of the WTBTS to falsely color people's reasons and motivations for leaving this so-called religion. They don't know what they are talking about. To leave the Jehovah's Witnesses' religion is not to leave God. It is to leave an organization that is so full of itself, so arrogant, pompous, and presumptuous it's unbelievable. The WTBTS has no business saying that people are leaving God when they leave this religion. It is not God people are "worshiping" in the JW religion, it is the organization. People are just misled into believing it is God they are worshiping. What a manipulative religion. No organization has any right to condition people into believing falsehoods, to play with people's minds as the WTBTS does. I know that I did NOT leave God!
I want to reiterate that the WTBTS has no right to speak for other people, to second guess them, whether they are currently JWs or not. People need to speak for themselves and should feel free to do so. The governing body is not a group of mind readers, and it is outrageous for them to say that people who leave the religion are also leaving God.
I just want to thank you for the hard work that you put in to this site. It is great!!!!
I think this site is great, too! It has been so helpful, educational, supportive, and encouraging to a lot of people. I hope all these people keep coming back and passing the word to others about this great site and that other wonderful site - - Silentlambs.org!
Hi Randy, and "Fellow Breathens" just wanted to drop in to say hello to all. I sinerely hope you are all managing this blistering summer. Thanks for the offers of the "summer specials." Unfortunately, I haven't yet decided if I wanted to be reDemonized by their "Subliminals" (the reason you haven't heard anything). Thanks again. You're still and will always be #1! Best Wishes To All, sassy
Sometimes I wonder if THEY are still "Secretly" dipping into politics. Something tells me THEY will be behind WHATEVER it is we are to expect from the government. I simply don't trust them anymore. And as far as our being considered as "HATERS"...Let it be known..."WE'VE LEARNED IT FROM TOP DAWGS. WE ARE WHAT THEY'VE BRED. Please make a note of it. This is a recording." Have a nice day.
This comment is to Kevin and any others that think this is merely a "hate site". I wrote a post for this site in the womnen's section, called "Christian Love, JW Style" This is actually my life, I have lived it and am still living it. JWS have done irreversible damage to me and my family. Our life has actually had physical and mental damage done to it. The persons, elders and criminals etc that did the damage, they still walk among JWS in positions of authority. All I can tell you if you are currently one of JWS : if it feels odd or wrong, it is. Don't let the elders or the WTS dictate your life. Get outside help for health and family problems. Make your own decisions. Most of all: Never shun or refuse to speak to your familyjust b/c JWS say so. Jehovah and Jesus would never approve of that. It is a vile thing JWS do when they advise JWS parents to stop speaking to a family member. The lastest WT cunningly tries to say it is the family member who will not speak to the JWS. That is an outright lie. JWS refuse to speak to those who are DF/DA or who are inactive in some cases. They just make up the rules a they go. If you are a parent and reading this- you know it is wrong to do this to a family member. Don't let them override your good sense.
To 06 Aug 2006 01:12:28, I agree, if something feels odd or strange in the JW religion to you, then go with that feeling. Often, "gut" feelings are correct, people should pay good, close attention to those feelings and let them be their guide. If something doesn't feel right, if something feels WRONG, then it probably is. Sometimes you just know something intuitively that you can't quite put your finger on or put into words just yet, but that intuition is telling you something you need to know, to be aware of. The person who posted about this is so right! Also, I want to let this person know I am so sorry about his/her experiences at the hand of this so-called religion, and I wish you and your family recovery from the trauma you have endured. Take good care, and hang in there!
I LEFT THE ORGANIZATION THE FIRST TIME OVER 20 YEARS AGO. I HAVE BEEN REINSTATED TWICE ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT I COULD GET MY FAMILY BACK. I HAVE MY PARENTS, TWO OF MY CHILDREN AND MY TWO GRANDCHILDREN STILL IN THE "TRUTH". AND I TRIED BOTH TIMES TO GET INVOLVED IN THEIR LIFE. THE ONLY ONES THAT WOULD LET ME IN THEIR LIFE WAS MY PARENTS. EVEN ONES AT THE HALL WOULD LIMIT THEIR ASSOCIATION WITH ME, EVEN THOUGH I WAS GOING IN SERVICE AND ON THE SCHOOL. SO I CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT WASN'T WORTH LIVING A LIE JUST TO HAVE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE THAT DIDN'T WANT ME THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO I HAVE BEEN OUT FOR OVER A YEAR THIS TIME AND I WON'T BE GOING BACK FOR ANY REASON, I HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. WHEN I FIRST LEFT 20+ YEARS AGO, I MET RANDY WATTERS IN MANHATTEN BEACH. I ATTENDED HIS CHURCH FOR A WHILE, TAUGHT CHILDRENS CHURCH AND SANG IN HIS CHURCH. RANDY AND ROB SULLIVAN HELPED ME THROUGH SOME ROUGH TIMES BACK THEN, AND FOR THAT I WILL BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. I HAVE REMAINED FRIENDS WITH RANDY THROUGH ALL THESE YEARS, EVEN THOUGH WE LIFE ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE USA, I HAVE HOWEVER, LOST TOUCH WITH ROB. CHRIS
